Wow, this place is still active
It's cool to see you guys are still here. I almost thought everyone had forgotten this place, but I'm glad I actually decided to check back here. After all, how could I ignore the request in your banner?
So... how are you guys doing? It's been a while. Enjoying the college life?

YEEEEEEEEEEE
YESH IT WORKED!!!
HE'S BACK
HE'S BACK
AND...AND HIS NAME IS...
College life has been dank mayne. The proz can assemble all day, every day. Although I feel I haven't accomplished enough for my advanced age. Homework's a bit of a grind, but nowhere near as demanding as it was in high school.

I don't go to college, I work for a living. Though lately I've been considering going to college to get a bachelor's degree in business. Only thing that keeps me from it is 1) money 2) time 3) I have always hated school. Other then than, I'm great, how bout yourself?

Re: Wow, this place is still active
That's good to hear. I know the feeling of lack of accomplishment. I guess the only thing I can do is just keep moving farther and working hard to get things done. Don't know about the homework thing, but that's maybe because I'm putting more of an effort towards studying than I did in high school.
Overall, I'm doing pretty well, myself. School has kept me really busy, but I feel that life is a lot better now that I've finished high school. The only downside is that now I truly know the meaning of the "broke college student" stereotype, but there's not much I can do about that right now, haha.
It's cool to see you again too, Nina. Do you still work at the library, or have you moved on to something bigger?

Moved from California to Nevada and am a full time assistant manager at a gamestop, working my way to manager of my own store. Also work part time at a panda express for a little extra spending money.

I also have to disagree with our admin-sama as I find that I need to put in a lot more work to succeed in college as compared to high school.

Re: Wow, this place is still active
College is great, except for the classes of course. Panda Express you say? Does everyone there speak the chinese?
In all seriousness, I believe that's probably due to the difference in our majors and the fact that I haven't entered the high level wizard courses yet. I mostly pick chumpstick classes that require no social interaction or paper writing.

That's cool. I'm glad that things are going well for you. I hope you get that manager job.
How's Matt doing? Does he still come around here too, or did he leave after rule breaker died?
Also, hey Kelvin! Eating more fruit does seem like a good idea. I work at a coffee shop now, so I probably should be making an effort to eat more than just sandwiches, haha.
Looking around this place really brings back a lot of memories. I guess it's a little too late to get in on that chocolate destiny thing, but I'll definitely stick around for the next thing that starts up.

Re: Wow, this place is still active
Actually chocolate destiny is like any other rpg and you should be able to jump in at any time as long as there is a party there, just submit a character to the GM.
And matt is working as well, though planning to go to college for a career in journalism.

It's never too late to get in on only the most fun thing of the millennium! If you need inspiration take a look at the World Dossier.
Re: Wow, this place is still active
Alright, thanks, guys. I'll give it a look.

Is the game based around an existing RPG system or is it more of a freeform thing?

Alright. What kind of party members are already in the story? I ask because I'd like to know which ideas have already been taken. In any case, I'll read through the all the threads before I submit a character.

Alright, sounds great. The Swaggafid Sultanate looks fun, but I'll give the whole story a read-through so I can make someone who fits well with the rest of the story.
Also, this is completely off-topic, but I just thought of a different question that I wanted to ask. Nina, as a gamestop manager, what do you think of this?

Re: Wow, this place is still active
Yeah its a freestyle system, I roll some mysterious dice whenever I don't know what's going to happen. Also, since there's no ideal party structure or classes, whatever you come up with I can almost 100% guarantee will be completely different from everyone else. There's maybe one role that a party should have, "smart guy", and you can never have enough of those.
But if you're still deathly afraid of ripping someone off, here's a quick rundown of the currently living and active players:
Amos - Generic sword guy with a unique brand of Gaitherlander magic
Nina - Big dumb brute that beats things with a club, but looks kawaii
Felix - Greedy piece of useless trash, should be pretty easy to NOT be him.
Kelvin - Messianic skald who's killin' me softly with his song...
Vroop - Juvenile zealot with indomitable RESOLVE.

Re: Wow, this place is still active
Oh, my banking is completely online. Overdrafting isn't an issue when I can check my balance anytime I want.
Re: Wow, this place is still active
I just pay my bills in cash, less hassle. Also my bank has no tellers here just a withdrawal machine, so i always gotta do my deposits and stuff before i leave vegas to go home.
But we do gotta Starbucks, and no one looks at me funny if i order black coffee instead of a crappe or some sugary thing that rots my teeth.

kaede wrote:You are correct, no library here (that im aware of) nor a cyber cafe, i live in a town with less than 30k people.
Gross, starbucks.
Primitive Cultures
Primitives do not read and write their own language and do not form significant permanent settlements. The chief industry of Primitives is the procurement of food, usually by hunting (traditionally a male role) and gathering (traditionally the task of women, children and the elderly). They do not work metal and organized farming is still rare. Modern Primitives include most basement dwelling gamers and the entire town that Nina lives in.

What is it with coffee shops and pumpkin flavoured products, anyway? I didn't start seeing them until a couple years ago, and now it seems like they're everywhere. I feel like I'm missing something, because the drinks don't even taste that good.

When in doubt, consult "Know Your Meme"
http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/pumpkin-spice-latte
Also, it seems that a new ingredient is going to be added to the recipe: actual pumpkin

So, judging by the description given, I assume the "spice" in "pumpkin spice" is some sort of drug that only affects hipsters and college girls?

Indeed it is. Oh, there should be a pixel art version of the other grandma's faces, I'd totally switch to altered grandma or antigrandma.

Yeah. I'd say that's a wish worth revoking the Eldar covenant for...
