There is an audible *crack* as Touka's club caves in the knight's shield and breaks bone. Sir Gerald grunts loudly, and the crowd gasps.
His blow also connects with Touka's torso, causing heavy bruising and deeper cuts.

The knight looks off to the side for a moment, then meets Touka's eyes with newfound respect.
"rrgh....You fight well after all, wench. I'd rather keep the use of my arm, so..."
The mace drops to the ground, and he raises his good hand in the air.
"I Yield."

The spectators are in an uproar, but the herald drowns them out with his horn.
"The outlander Touka has bested Sir Gerald in single combat, and is proclaimed the victor!"

"Oh, come on!" a minor noble cries in dismay. "No, that can't be!" "She must have cheated!" "Sorcery! I saw her use black magics!"

Lord Gilberm ignores these complaints and walks over to Touka.
"Well Miss Nishikujou, it would seem God judged you worthy so you are free to go. Although...you do look very strange now, should I be taking any of my subordinates' claims seriously?"

She ignores the shouts of the crowd, instead focusing on the knight and his lord, preparing to make a break for it if something goes wrong. "Only if you consider traits of ones inhuman ancestors manifesting sorcery m'lord."

"Hmph. I have seen stranger in my years. Now, I could have my archmage come back and check you over, but I doubt I'd understand half of what he says. It's a shame though, I could use a fighter like you on the border. I strongly suspect trouble will break out soon."

"I dobut I could offer much assistance, but what exactly is going on at your border?"

"The Lymeshans keep crossing the line without our notice, coming and going as they please. It's a blatant disregard for the treaties we have with them, and their groups are oft mistaken for bandits or smugglers and get attacked. It's only a matter of time before one side's commander decides they've had enough and escalates to a full scale battle."

"I see. Ireally wouldn't be much help in border conflict such as that." She then looks toward the defeated knight. "The man I fought, Sir Gerald, is he necessary on the front lines?"

"No, and I pray he does not become necessary. His style is best suited to defending castles, and the Lymeshan border has a dearth of proper ones."

"I can't really do much, but with my abilities I can help speed up his recovery time so he will at least be able to fight if things escalate. Would you like me to help him or can your healers handle everything?"

"My healers will suffice. You should be on your way, lest we be suspected of conspiring."

She nods. "Fine with me. If you change your mind I'll be in town for another day or so." Saying that she curtsies then takes her leave, heading back to the town.

The sun is setting as Touka arrives back at the inn, where she sees Jorah leaning against a small wagon hitched to a single horse. Gray is sleeping inside the wagon.

"o hai thar. Welcome to da wagon. May I interest you in... um... idunno, the wagon?"

She ignores Jorah, instead heading back to her inn room to look over the changes she has gone through using her rooms mirror. Seeing the lump on her forhead, she runs the same chems as earlier through her system, seeing the lump get bigger before eventually shrinking and changing into a six inch horn before she cuts off the chems again. Nodding at the changes, she locks the door and bars it with a chair before she lays down to hopefully get some sleep.

Jorah is sad from being ignored.

(Gray continues sleeping.)

Amos arrives back at the inn, and goes straight to one of the many large beds in his room. Everyone goes to sleep.
