Malediction

Darrius goes to the barracks and organizes the men into five man search parties. He the gives them instructions to search every inch of the ship top to bottom, stern to starboard for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary. He then makes for the brigs (or wherever those who were chanting about the forge are) to interrogate the men for information of what's causing it, if they've seen red eyed monsters in the halls, or had strange and terrible hallucinations

Lankath disappears into his quarters to repaint his carapace a combination of eye watering colors, and shave off his growing facial hair, he leaves his short upper cranial hair intact this time.

Twenty minutes pass as the Solstice approaches the cluster of stone fortresses. The vessel is docking towards the "eastern edge" of footfall (as much as there is an edge to footall). The search platoons have not discovered any heretical artifacts or phenomena on board that were not there before. Lankath has tended to his armor and facial hair. Are there any actions the esteemed council members would like to take before disembarking?

Jarrion will look up information about Footfall to see if there is a strong Inquisitorial presence.

Darrius radios over to Jarrion

"Try and grab me a set of storm trooper armor or carapace armor if you could. Ill be busy searching over the ship"

"Do you think we should get that before specialists for the Solstice, Lord Vendigroth?"

(Glademore) "Captain I have searched high and low for you. I came to give council with regards to adding specialists to the crew of the Solstice. An officer recently brought to my attention that we have no legal scholars without whom we will not be able to exploit the Rogue Trade Warrant to the fullest. Even a small cadre of two or three such scholars would be immensely helpful."

"Specialists should be prioritized but if we have time I am in need of some new armor"

Jarrion spends his time marshaling his assets to gather the services of good legal scholars [40].

Jarrion radios Darrius, "How is the search coming?  I need your commercial skills here soon; we have to find a buyer for these Inquisitorial data slabs.  Someone opened them, so now we can't give them back to the Inquisition for influence."

"I can make for the bridge as soon as the men are organized. They should be able to handle it from there"

Lankath departs from the ship after being searched and goes to find some local trouble.

Darrius makes fore the bridge and upon arrival goes over to Jarrion and asks him

"Lord Captain may I speak to you privately? It is about those inquisitorial data slabs"

"As you wish," Jarrion says.  He leads Darrius into an alcove right off from the bridge.  "What did you wish to discuss Seneschal?"

"It is my opinion sir that we should destroy the inquisitorial data vaults because we are unable to sell them on the black market due to the information they contain and the inquisitors would kill us for having it"

"Thank you for agreeing with me Seneschal?  I do not understand why this needed to be private.  In fact, that is the very same reason why I called you here.  Did I not make that clear to you initially?"

Darrius cocks am eyebrow at Jarrion

"Sir you called me here to help you sell the dataslates. You have never mentioned to me the thought of destroying them"

"Are you feeling all right Lord Vendigroth?  Your speech is erratic, and not easily followed."

[Lets try doing this from a point that isn't confusing]

"It is my opinion sir that we should destroy the inquisitorial data vaults because we are unable to sell them on the black market due to the information they contain and the inquisitors would kill us for having it. I know this because I opened the datavaults to determine what exactly we were carrying and it is information that cannot be allowed to see the light of day"

Jarrion grits his teeth.  "Your opening that vault has cost this ship quite a pretty penny, Lord Vendigroth.  I hope it was worth it.  Now we certainly cannot give them back to the Inquisition.  I agree that we should not sell them either.  My current plan is to leave Footfall in search of a region where we might acquire another ship.  That is the best way to increase our capabilities.  I need you to look out for rumors of ships that ma be easily captured.  On our way there, we can slag and vent the data vaults into the Warp."

"The information in the vaults was certainly worth it. It has given me insight into matters of great importance of this ships survivabilty. If we're lucky this information won't become relevant and we'll be that much safer"

Jarrion nods, then heads back into the bridge.

Darrius heads out into footfall and searches for a information broker or somewhere he can find information about the Koronus expanse

Jarrion turns to Camlann and says, "Lord Camlann, while Lord Vendigroth follows more traditional means of information acquisition, I think I will go to my roots; if you and some of your men accompanied me while on my reconaissance mission, I would feel most honored."

His silent vigil finally ended, Camlann sports a wry smile. "Of course. The...honor is mine."

"The plan is to venture into bars and other areas of ill repute to converse with other void sailors.  We are trying to pick up information which could lead us into a new endeavor;  Currently, I am considering having us search for a new ship to add to our currently small fleet.  Of course, more wealth is always appreciated as well, so any profitable rumors should be brought to my attention.  I trust you speak Low Gothic as well as the High?  That may prove necessary should we enter into talks with less cultured crewmen."

Camlann looks at him oddly. "Yes, I can speak Low Gothic, pretty sure it is the standard language of the Imperium, and we are speaking in it now?" He scratches his head.
"I think instead of our 'fleet', we should focus more on endeavors, better to wait and try for a good ship then burden ourselves with a rust bucket, so to speak."

"In fact, since we are not squalling peasants, we are speaking High Gothic.  And as for endeavors, I am in agreement.  However, there is no doubt that we could gather wealth more easily were we to have multiple ships.  We should look out for rich unclaimed planets that we can plunder."

Camlann waves his hand. "Bah! High, Low, maybe I got the names mixed up, but they sound pretty close to each other anyway. Plunder sounds great, let's get to it when our compatriots return."

"Are you ready to head out now, or do you need some time to gather your men?  I am prepared."

"Nah, I'm ready, let's go." Camlann gets 10 men for backup.

[What sort of location are the two of you seeking in footfall?]

An area where adventurous captains and crew go to relax.  Where they are talkative and in a good mood.  Where they do not want to shoot, stab, or scar inquisitive strangers.

Jarrion thinks of the sort of place he'd hope to visit yet he has no idea of where to find such a peaceful haven much less if one exists.

Then he and Camlann wander around until they find some tavern where the patrons are free of lice and don't actively try to stab them as they walk inside.

Camlann and Xanatov wander to one of the nicer bars in the area. There low ranking officers and the subordinates of the many merchants passing through footfall rest with a variety of liquors to aid in said relaxation. Waiters and waitresses dressed in thongs and pink nipple tassels walk from section to section carrying trays overcrowded with food and drink. Instrumental music is played throughout the halls and 'sections' of the bar (a fusion of classical and dubstep). Each 'section' has waist high walls that fence off approximately six hundred square feet of area. Typically individuals from a given ship stay together in a section. The tables are cut from a wood with a majestic red hue blended with the color of a dark maple. The chairs have cushioned leather seats and back supports and lights shine through amethyst, sapphire and topaz colored glass chandeliers.

"Huh? What's that?" Camlann turns back from his comm device. "Ah, Lord Xanatov, I think Comrade Lankath has been arrested. Might want to check your funds."

Jarrion sighs, and rubs his temples. "Do you know where he's being held? I suppose we can't just leave him in prison for a few days to stew over his mistakes?"

"I am not in prison, I am merely barricaded in by armed thugs. Although I can potentially defuse the situation myself, there are crates of rare minerals here that may fetch a good price, and I cannot carry them alone."

Camlann's expression brightens. "Oh, minerals, why didn't you say so? Let's head right over Lord Xanatov." He rallies the men.

Jarrion heads off with Camlann, pausing only to call for extra porters from the Solstice to help carry the minerals. In addition, he orders a set of mercenaries to accompany the porters to ensure they are not bothered along the way.

The makeshift platoon of soldiers and porters follows after Camlann and Jarrion. The group arrives at Lankath's reported location within an hour. A single thug stands at the front entrance to the tower. He easily notices the group standing with Xanatov and Camlann but simply stands at the entrance glaring at them. Camlann and Xanatov's group is ~40 yards away from the tower entrance.

Lankath is too focused on keeping the thugs at bay to look over the edge of the tower and see reinforcements have arrived.

Jarrion comms Lankath, "We are at your position now. What is your situation? Do you need us to come in after you?" When he speaks, he makes sure to keep his voice down so that the guard and any other eavesdroppers do not hear.

"Charge in please, I will charge down when they are distracted, and we can make short work of these thugs."

"Righty-ho then." Camlann takes aim with his hellgun and fires on the thug at the entrance.
