The fellow by the entrance sees the mercenaries going to take shots at him and escapes into the tower. Before he clears the doorway Jarrion's las-bolt wounds him. A barrage of las-fire from guards adds scorch marks to the huge stone bricks comprising the tower.

Lankath hears a commotion under his barricade. Thugs are speaking to one another in their incomprehensible dialect and accent. Lankath is barely able to make out that they are escaping out the back of the tower.

Lankath yanks off the tops of each crate and takes a rough inventory of the contents: Two 3' x 3' x 3' crates of crystals, a crate containing a dozen or so frag grenades, plasma weaponry ammunition and some las-weapon charge packs. There is also a metal barrel with a plug for a tap. Lankath decides it would be wise to wait until the barrel is moved to a laboratory where the contents can be analyzed before opening the barrel.

While I was away I have successfully secured a buyer for the xanthrin and the money is being transferred as we speak. I have also procured us a possible ship to procure from a very wealthy beneficiary who wished to stay anonymous in name from me and the rest of us."

He did describe it as ripe for the taking however as we all know abandoned ships are likely to be supposedly cursed or have some other issue to have prevented its capture thus far. It would certainly be a valuable addition to our small fleet and could provide the break we need to start bringing in some real profit"

"If he wanted us dead he certainly wouldn't be going in such a roundabout way of doing it. He's more than wealthy enough to hire every private army in the sector to come after us. He certainly doesn't care about our use of xenos technology since his home had plenty and servitors were armed to the teeth with them. It's my best guess that something on the ship used to be his and he wants it back. We get a ship and he gets his prize, a fair trade"

"I'm in agreement. He is not the kind of man we should upset. Asking him to come to us could prove to be the worst mistake of our lives or very well the best. If we are to go we shouldn't bring any guards lest they just be killed by the mechanical guards our friend has at his disposal. It would likely be best if only four of us went, mayhaps he would be interested in Lankath and his fascination would put him in a more hospitable mood."

"I do not mean to bring guards as a threat to him. The purpose of our escort would be simply to impress upon him our worth. On a diplomatic meeting it would be poor form to proceed without an honor guard. They will add pomp and circumstance to our meeting. They should be outfitted in dress uniforms, and be sure to be well-cleaned before we leave. I do agree that Lankath should come with us. In case there is any trouble, he will prove to be a greater help than any other guards we might bring."
