"Eep!" Otya suddenly notices the lizard stepping into the clearing and makes a startled jump. With a calm voice you manage to get her to sit back down and assure her that the creature means no harm, as it is sworn to obey you. There isn't another conveniently flat-topped tree stump nearby for the lizard, but from your careful machinations you happen to have the perfect tool for a comfortable elevated seating in almost any location: the folding chair. It bears a few dents, a rip in the seat cushion, and a light coat of dried blood but is otherwise serviceable.
"My liege, could I try some of these nutrition pelletss, these...Risse Krisspies?" the lizard asks. There is but a spoonful of cereal left in the box, but you've already had your fill so you don't see why not. Your companion makes an unreadable expression as its reptilian jaws crunch down. Having finished her share, Otya licks her lips in wistful remembrance. You observe that her hands are clean despite the rest of her being covered in dirt, and she appears to be of Eurasian descent.

You're not giving up on Otya just yet. You get up from your stump and go after her. It seems she was expecting this, and breaks into a run. In the heat of the moment you shout many things both good and bad at her, but she doesn't stop or respond. Both of you have rested and eaten, so this chase could go on for a while. Your feet make light slapping sounds as the ground grows wetter underneath.

The temperate forest transitions to a more swamp-like biome, with ferns and abnormally droopy trees everywhere. Otya continues straight ahead, wading into a large, wide muddy pond. You follow, murky liquid splashes around your feet but fortunately your bodysuit appears to be water resistant. Still, this could pose a problem.
