You throw the knife at the lizard with surprisingly deadly accuracy given your lack of practice, but right before it hits, the lizard raises the chair to guard its head and the blade embeds itself harmlessly(to the lizard) into the checker-patterned seat cushion. The chair has given it power! Nooooo!
"Thankssss," it hisses, sticking its tongue out in a mocking gesture. You let out a rage-fueled scream and charge with your bare fists.
It tries to block with the chair again, but the force of the impact is so great it is sent flying. It lands on the ground, dazed and the chair beside it.

The lizard's tongue flops around a bit, then is sucked back into its mouth. It shakes its head rapidly to reorient itself. "Uhhhhh...if that'ss what you wanted, why didn't you sssay sso?" It hops to its feet, and you raise your guard, but instead of attacking, it takes a deep bow and swears fealty to you by the scales of its ancestors. "My blade is at your service...What would you ask of me?"

You arbitrarily decide the lizard is male in much the same way that you assumed your own gender. "Of course," the lizard says, "Any Lord of yours is my liege as well." You swell with pride at your new acolyte.

My liege would need mighty warriorss or great cunning to take them on. Ass for the resst, I have ssseen one or two by themselves today, could be easy prey or friendss to take the Horn. But beware the boy who bearss the number five, he has sslain many of my kin before. I cannot help you againsst him. That iss all I know. Your command, my liege?"

Of course, as breakfast foods go Rice Krispies are simply the best there is. You will accept no substitutes. You instruct the lizard to aid you in recovering them.
It profusely apologizes for causing you to lose them earlier. "I am sssorry, my liege. I did not realize the true nature of these...mysstical nutrition pellets. Missstook them for yet unknown human weapon." Well, it's not entirely wrong in that respect.

Crouching to the ground, you comb through the grass and dirt, plucking out Krispies where you can find them, taking care to brush off any dirt or filth each piece may have picked up. Soon enough you have a handful, but realize it won't do to just eat each handful as you collect them. It's not like you're some sort of savage, after all.

You backtrack along the chase path and pick up the cereal box, pouring the handful in and continuing to forage. The lizard follows close carrying your chair and knife, it's new servitude paying off already. It seems to be frowning now, as far as you can tell from its reptilian features. It flicks its tongue out.

"Picking up new ssscent," the lizard whispers to you under its breath. "A human nearby. Not you. Could be watching."

You quickly glance around, but the forest undergrowth grows quite thick and tall in this area, obscuring many potential hiding places. Further examination might clue an observer in to your awareness.

A. Continue collecting Krispies as if you hadn't noticed anything, watching for movement.
B. Stand up, shout "Show yourself, coward!" and prepare to fight.
C. Set all the brush on fire to smoke them out, literally!

F. Trip and fall in an exaggerated manner, and clutch knee in a fetal position. Wail as if in great pain, screaming "Fucking district 2!" all the while. Then go limp, holding the knife close by to stab anybody who comes close to check.

Since it worked so well before, you decide to once again play the victim to nature. You kick a small rock and fall over, flailing your arms and exclaiming "Oh dear! I've tripped and fallen (again)!"

Grasping your intent this time, the lizard scampers into a nearby bush while you moan and groan like you were... being put into a bad situation by other tributes.

After going limp, you hear a rustling and some light footsteps. Opening one eye a crack, you sneak a peek at the source.
About ten feet away from you stands the skinny, mousy-haired girl from District 11, her body covered in dirt and twigs. She speaks in a soft, timid voice. "Ano...Are you hurt? I can help...uh, if you want me to..."

"Oh! R-really?" she asks, hope filling her eyes. "You...you want to have breakfast with m-me?" You confirm the offer, and she nods vigorously in acceptance. "Yes, I'd like that!"
You swear you can almost hear some faint music start to play in the background.

"Uh...please?"
You motion for her to follow, skipping through the peaceable woods until you find the perfect spot for a nice picnic, two conveniently placed flat-topped tree stumps in the middle of a clearing. You and the District 11 girl sit down on the stumps. In a fit of inspiration, you cut out a pair of makeshift wooden scoops, handing one to her. You set down the box of Rice Krispies, open the top, and gingerly lift out some of the cereal you so painstakingly cleaned and collected. The girl extracts some Krispies with a comparable amount of meticulousness. "Wow, ish shtill good," she says while crunching it down. Her expression looks genuine, even though she probably watched you picking the pellets up off the ground. Or perhaps it is in spite of that fact that she treats it with such care, not letting a single Krispy go to waste. Her face reddens. "Oh, arigato gozaimasu senpai!t-thank you so much for sharing your cereal! My name is Otya, I'm from District 11. Uh, I guess you knew that already."
It's so nice to meet someone who appreciates Rice Krispies as much as you do.
"Um... if you don't mind me asking, what's yours?"

Otya listens intently as you rattle off every one of your illustrious titles, no doubt impressed by all of your status and accomplishments. She does start frowning as you go on though, maybe she is jealous?
