Joachim travels into the heart of darkness

Joachim Hig lives a dangerous life. His very being is hunted by daemon and witch-hunter alike while his powers stand to betray at a moments notice and with devastating repercussions no less. It is fitting then that only he would board the scouting shuttle and rocket towards into the unknown and possibly towards a miserable demise.

Many of the men aboard the shuttle keep to themselves. Joachim knows this is not only because of what might be their soon and sudden deaths; Afterall, these men have been sent into plenty a suicidal mission and their endless chattering could be heard crystal clear over the communications array in the bridge. These men kept silent because of their supreme discomfort and fear for being in the presence of a warp channeling sorcerer whose unknowable magics are condemned all across the imperium. So they sat in silence (lest you do something of your own volition).

Two hours later the shuttle is nearing the field. There are only a few minutes before the shuttle crosses the boundary. You may act now.

Choirmaster Joachim cleans and loads his Stub, for he knows everything is left to the will of the Emperor.

The formal "Brace yourselves" is transmitted through the vox caster from the cockpit to give the Choirmaster and the other crewmembers warning so they might say a quick prayer to the emperor before they cross the threshold. Five ... four ... three ... two ... ONE!

"Sir choirmaster ... there is a planet in here .. but there is something else ... a fountain of darkness sir." meekly come across the vox caster in the troop compartment of the shuttle.

Joachim heads over to the cockpit to see the situation personally.

He enters the cockpit and the pilot immediately cries "Have you ever seen such a thing sir?! Have you any knowledge as to what the hell that is?"

"Erm, well it certainly feels special. Hold position while I contact the Equinox."
Joachim starts focusing his energies to send an astral message to Novalaz.

Your psychic vision reaches out as far or maybe even farther than a normal could see and at the very edge of this empyreal vision of yours you can see a vortex of galactic proportions stemming from some sort of astral body. The vortex is a mix of rays of light and dark swirling and spinning out into epic proportions and eventually dispersing into the void. You gather this must be the source of the augury obscuring field.

"Men, this looks extremely dangerous. Let us return to the equinox for further discussion."

The pilot hastily obeys your command. He is as eager to return as you are and speeds off at the fastest possible speed. The shuttle engines get crippled under the pressure but luckily momentum carries you and the others back to the Equinox in a timely fashion.
