At mention of the Lessyrs Davorin quiets and look becomes cold and emotionless

Lord Sigmaur gives Roland a long look before replying, in short clipped tones, "No. We will not be inviting the Lassyr onto our lands. They hold enough of it as it is; I will not give them any more hospitality."

"As you command sir. I only thought it would be a fantastic spectacle seeing our champion best theirs in the field of battle."

Imperion maintains his look of calm authority. "Well, on that note, is our business here concluded?" He stands up as if preparing to leave.

Vidanos, also appearing to have a certain look of disdain and malice at the mention of the Lessyr, stands with Imperion but does not move quite yet because he is unsure of the next move, this being one of the very few times Vidanos was able to partake in an actual political debate.

Davorin gets up and walks for the door with no further remark and only a cold stare forward as he leaves. As he exits the door he pauses and says without looking

"I think buisiness is concluded. Ill set out on getting ready preparations in the morning. If anyone has need of me ill be with William working on his swordsmanship"

Vidanos whistles to Marrok and they both walk out the door behind Davorin, heading out to a field to let Marrok run around and exercise a bit while Vidanos reads. "Let me know if there is any need of a doctor, I'll be out letting Marrok enjoy the day outside."

Imperion nods to his lord father, saying "I will see to security and get the word out to our neighboring lords." He moves to leave.

Brom silently follows the others out of the door.

"Very well. We shall hold this tournament in three months, at the beginning of the summer months."

(This is time for you guys to let me know of anything you want to do that isn't normal. Also, Davorin should decide whether to roll house fortunes or not.)

We decided to invest the defense into a tower. Rolling on how many extra months it will take.

Imperion spends the next three months in a frenzy, organizing the tournament. Finally, the itinerary is set: a joust the first day, followed by an archery contest, and finishing the week with a grand melee [total cost of 3 wealth]. The grand prize of the joust is set at 400 gold. There will be a generous feast at the very end of the tourney. Is there anything anyone wishes to do before the tournament begins?

I'm set when everyone else is.

Brom wishes to enter the archery contest but aside from that I'm fine

Nearby families and hedge knights begin arriving in the week preceding the beginning of the tournament. All the new arrivals find a place to camp near the main hall, and soon the fields are covered with a small assortment of brightly colored tents and flags. By the eve of the tournament, all the houses that Davorin has invited have arrived. The morning of the tournament dawns bright and clear; there will be no rain to infringe on the joust. Is there anything anyone wishes to do before the joust? You could speak at the breakfast all the heads of families are attending, or go out to hunt for meat for the feast tonight (just some ideas if you are at a loss).

I would like to know the names of the major houses, any important history, and their lords, and then I'll go talk to the heads of all of the families.

Davorin stands up at the breakfast feast and taps his glass with his fork to get everyone's attention. He then clears his throat and addresses the assembly of lords and laddies.

"My lords and ladies, I hope you all had good fortune if your travels here to our tournament. I would like to offer the thanks of house Sigmaur for your participation and to wish you all the best of luck in the games. We have been fortunate enough to receive wonderful weather for the events and are anxious to see a good show from all the fine knights and lords participating in the games."

As Davorin says the last statement he raises his glass in praise to those participating and undoubtedly receives a cheer or clap of some sort in response before lowering the glass.

"We have several events for all the fine warriors of the houses to prove their mettle in and I am personally looking forward to seeing many of you in the grand melee. To the winning house shall go some nice chests filled with gold ghosts and their champion will undoubtedly have won the hearts of beautiful maidens everywhere."

Davorin waits for the laughter or whatever response to die down before resuming

"Now enjoy the feast house Sigmaur has arranged for us all this morning and the best of luck to everyone."

Davorin raises his glass high in the air and exclaims to the crowd

"FROM THE PLAINS WE CONQUER!!!"

I am assuming that Imperion is waiting until after the speech to go fraternize with the guests. Before he can however, this happens:

The cheers that you expect after such a rousing speech are muted and quickly hushed. A low muttering can be heard spreading throughout the crowd. You search the tables for the cause, and see everyone is looking at a slim woman standing near the door. She claps slowly, mockingly applauding the speech.

"From the plains we conquer indeed," she says in her cold, clear voice. "My husband looks forward to seeing you in the melee as well, Lord Sigmaur." She turns around, flipping her pale blond hair. "It's really been too long, Davorin," she calls over her shoulder. "Come by my tent. We must have a chat."

You stare at the door, as Elyssa Lassyr leaves. The muttering in the tent grows louder as the lords and ladies wonder at the arrival of House Lassyr at this tournament.

Davorin glares as the Lassyr leaves the tent then remembers where he is and looks at the crowd and smiles

"We'll it looks like a new piece has been placed on the table. We wanted a rousing tournament and so it would seem we'll have one! Let the festivities begin then!"

Davorin slams his glass on the table with a thud to snap everyone out of their bewilderment at the Lassyrs showing. He then goes to find Vidanos and tells him to work on getting everyone to find out why the Lassyrs are here. He then goes to the tent to see the Passyr per her request

Before speaking to guests, Imperion immediately stands up and looks for the captain of the guard to find out how house Lessyr was able to get in.

Upon finding him (/her), Imperion calmly says "How did that happen?"

"Sir, they had a legitimate invitation. I did not deem it wise to bar their entry."

Imperion nods. Contemplating Davorin's (he was the one who invited the other houses, correct?)lunacy at giving house Lassyr an invitation, Imperion seeks out Roland and asks him to seek out and follow his brother to Elyssa's tent, suspecting the worst from house Lassyr.

Following this, Imperion speaks with the other invited lords and ladies.

"I'm not well suited to spying on your brother my lord. If you have need of more ... subtle individuals ... you should acquire the services of a spy from the Valin." (Bluff 8k6)

Imperion accepts Roland's excuse, although he does think it rather odd.

Imperion, confused by Roland's behavior, raises an eyebrow. He gives up, realizing that understanding Roland's behavior is nearly impossible, and leaves with a glare followed by a quick peremptory nod. He then goes to speak to the guests.
