Malediction

Jarrion unsheathes his sword and goes to stand by the other entrance, keeping a lookout for dangerous daemons.

THUMP. CRASH. BANG. Xanatov cranes his head to starboard and sees the following trying to tear its way through an escape pod attached to the bridge:

Funny, that sword looks familiar. Oh yes, Xanatov is holding one - only it has less ridges and the emblem above the hilt appears to be missing.

Jarrion sprints for the escape pod and launches it off, hoping to knock the daemon into the void. Jarrion counts his blessings as he sees the monstrosity jettisoned into the void at a glorious speed.

"BY THE EMPEROR WHAT IN THE FVCK WAS THAT." Yells a crew member. He also seems to have sh1t himself.

Jarrion looks around to make sure everyone saw his awesome actions (and to make sure everyone else is ok.)  "Is everyone unharmed?" He shouts. "It looks like they'll come at us from all directions." He looks at the messy crewmember. "You should go clean yourself."

Another operator chimes in "Lord . . . there are 27 more emergency messages."

"PLAY THEM ALL!!!" Jarrion roars. "IF WE SHALL DIE, WE SHALL DIE WITH THE REMEMBRANCE THAT OUR MEN FOUGHT BEFORE THEY DIED."

"YE GOD MY INNARDS, AUGH ARGH EYAAAHH"
"They're gone, they're gone, my eyesmy eyes, why (sound of body falling to ground, screams in background)."
"(demonic voice in background) SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!"
"(crackling of fire)"

"HUEEEE .... HUEEEEE ..... save ... m- (crash)"

"(Daemon voice) This head makes for a vunderful soccerball no Slvetharin?"
"Hey captain, festivities going well here but an officer went to get more food and hasn't been back for a while. Thought you should know."
"(Vicious barrage of snapping bones)"

Jarrion stands on his throne and says, very dramatically:

He then leaps off the throne dramatically, brandishing his glowing, flaming sword with gusto.

"KRAGHHH GOD HELP ME"
"HOW ARE MY LEGS ON FIRE"
"GET GUARDS HE-AEAAAGGG"
"(no sound)"
"This is XJKL-5, servitor, I was commanded to report if I ever expressed abnormal behavior. I am shedding tears."
"NOO AUGHHHH is that my ... spine?"
"This is Mekarn, the shuttle has just landed, how fares the imperitization?"

Jarrion responds to Mekarn, a bit put out that he missed his award-winning speech. "There is a slight situation, and we do not have everything under control. Try and make your way to the bridge, bringing whatever survivors you can. You may want to take the shuttle directly to the bridge. One of the escape pods has been launched, so you can board in that manner. Be wary of Daemons in space. They are hungry. And I order you to begin praying for our souls."

"What? What? WHAT! ... The shuttle will arrive at the dock shortly." Indeed only a few minutes pass before Mekarn disembarks into the bridge from the shuttle with two techno-cultist aides.

Darrius is a little perplexed at how every lord is taking there being daemons on the ship. What's more he's extremely confused how Selena knows about them.

Darrius tries to determine the manner of the daemons on board that they're dealing with (forbidden lore daemonaology t int 45 -5)

"Sir I think it may be best to order everyone on board to evacuate the ship. We need to do what we can to kill as many of these things as we can while protecting those who are escaping. We can't pilot a ship if the whole crew's dead"

"Mekarn! So glad you've arrived.  As you may not know what happened, I will let you know.  Daemons have invaded the Solstice and the Battle Rampart.  This is not how I had hoped for our celebration to proceed.  The current plan is to hold the bridge safe and then venture forth once things have calmed down. Have you begun praying?  It seems like this might be a good time for such actions."  

Jarrion turns to Vendigroth and slaps him.  "NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO CUT AND RUN VENDIGROTH!!! WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE DAEMONS NOW!!!! TELL US THEIR WEAKNESSES!!!"

He then turns to Selena and asks, "Do you think you could carry out a more detailed scan of the Solstice to determine the organization and placement of the daemons?  Perhaps we can set up some sort of resistance."  

He finally walks over to the operator and gives the following order:  "Play all future emergency messages on all channels, at max broadcast power.  If none come through, loop the old ones.  Turn up the volume.  It will make the men here fight more fiercely if they know what will happen to them."

"SIR YOU"RE JUST GOING TO INSTIL PANIK! TELL THEM TO EVAC!!!"

Vendigroth knows they are bloodletters of khorne, the shock troops of the god of war and blood.

As Vendigroth recalls information about the Daemons one of the operators tosses his console at a wall and darts for an escape pod. Others see this and three more bolt after the escape pods as well.

"MUTINY!!!!" Jarrion roars!!! With one leap , he bounds to the retreating operators and brutally hacks off their heads, severing their traitorous craniums.

"Sir they are shock troop daemons of the bloodgod Khorn. If they're here then more will follow. It's reasonable to assume that somewhere on the ship there is a ritual being done to summon them or there is a conduit by which they are entering. They do not naturally exist in this space so if we should destroy whatever is holding them here or at least bringing in more the flow should stop"

Darrius then looks at the work done by Jarrion

"Sir I also don't think that's an appropriate response"

As Jarrion turns to face the men on board the bridge the traitorous blood seeps into the blade and a roar lets out through the hall. An unholy form bursts forth from the blade and cries out "I AM UNSHACKLED!!! BLOOD BREAKS MY SEAL! GRYTLGLSGR SHALL MAKE WAR!" The red daemon stands two and a half men tall and 6 feet wide. It dons flaming armor and holds a long axe with a skull embedded in the back of the axe head for decoration. It looks upon all of council members and operators. Make willpower tests.

Jarrion makes a furious attack with his flaming sword, but also speaks as he blurs into action.

"LORD GRSTLGRN, I WISH TO OFFER YOU THE SOULS AND BODIES OF MY CREW IN EXCHANGE FOR BECOMING YOUR EVER-LASTING SERVANTS AND JOINING THE FORCES OF CHAOS AS CHAOS ROGUE TRADERS. WE WILL CRUSH THIS CURSED RELIC OF ST. DRUSUS IN YOUR HONOR." (He is speaking loudly to overcome the sounds of the emergency messages.) Charm-69, +10 trained, +10 for crushing the nasty relic.

The daemon turns its attention onto Xanatov, it notices it has taken slight injury from the wily man's slice. It bellows "FANTASTIC YOU HAVE WOUNDED ME, PROVE YOUR WORTH IN BATTLE BY ENDURING A MERE MOMENT OF MY BLOWS AND I MAY TAKE YOU ON AS PART OF MY ARMY."
