Pathfinder IRL
No, this is not another suggestion topic, Wayne and Amos have already talked with me and we're doing Pathfinder at my house on Sunday. This topic is for on-site discussion of the campaign plot, characters, combat mechanics, power builds, etc. If your not Wayne or Amos, this shouldnt matter to you.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
That it was, and in order to keep the sucessfulness going we are going to need to check with our parents to see when the next open day is. Ask your parents about the next two weekends schedules, and post what days and times you are open.
Oh, and we sorta talked about this, but we might not want to host at my house all the time. Ask you parents about hosting as well, and see if a Pathfinder-friendly set-up is feasible in your house.
Amos, set a box aside for your minis, that way we might not have to represent things with retarded minis (like the Dragon Horse...)
And just FYI, I'm buying a legit Game Masters screen and a Gaming Mat from the paizo site, both reviewed well, so those should be in when we meet next.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
Yeah, I have to agree this party was really fun!
And as someone who's had zero experience with board games before, I think that says something. I'm surprised there weren't more people that signed up.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
Well, the Dragon Horse miniature thing was really symbolic in a way, since it was used as a game breaking cavalry carry and tactical deterrent, like the King Tiger Tank, it really turned the tables and allowed us to take down stronger opponents with a 2.5:1 ratio numerical advantage against us, surprising Amos. It was a resounding tactical success, though I think you might've been holding back a bit Michael since they didn't focus on me. But it was rather the opposite for the last encounter of the day, since I had to dismount and then we had to rely on the luck of the d20 system, which kept failing us time after time until the very end, where we only barely made it out because of Amos' high armor.
Re: Pathfinder IRL
Lol, well goblins aren't very smart to begin with, so they wouldn't know enough to gang-bang one opponent and then move onto the next. However, later on you won't have the pleasure of facing dumb opponents, as seen with the evil clerics.
Four players and one GM is like the Magic Number. Too many people would be too much to handle, and plus Pathfinder and table top games altogether are all relatively non-mainstream. I am so pleased to know that a new-comer would come out of the game so impressed with it and enjoying the session so much.
So, scheduling, whats the word with that? Most likely my schedule is free two weeks from now.
UPDATE: Bought these things, should be here later this week.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
Yeah we might need more players due to us splitting up all the time, that way we stand more of a chance since we always seem to come up in battles without a full party, which is why we got trashed that time.

Slots are full Sandow. You can try to start your own game with Larry and the freshman or something.

if you need a replacement GM for a session, I'd be willing to step in, other than that, even though I can't play, I would like to be kept current on events in the campaign.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
Second Session was a blast, you guys cleared out that dungeon faster than I expected (except you let the clerics sneak up on you, bad )
THIRD session will take place next week on Sunday. Post your good times and bad times. I expect EVERYONE to show up, so that we can do more rollin', more trollin', and see what happens to the unlucky town of Terringcreek.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
That means we'll have a 5 man party? More strategic possibilities I'm making a backstory.
Oh yeah, I forgot, Michael made a logic error as a GM: he violated his own red truth. Yeah, of course, there was nothing.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
Well logic errors are easy to fix when you have an Erasable Game Mat! And it was just a freaking door that I misplaced, and that door didn't lead to anywhere important anyways.....

- Spoiler:
for those who are curious to why there's a pedobear, when i joined the party i asked if anyone saw my dead pedobear anywhere
also a few things i didn't integrate (cuz it was too much work (or you can argue that i was too lazy))- She doesn't have gauntlets
- she is in a scholar's costume
- she has a backpack not a barrel of cannonballs (but you can imagine that it's a basket shaped backpack full of bottles of poison)
P.S. if you don't like dead (pedo)bears then gtfo

Re: Pathfinder IRL
rogue to become a maniacal murderer - fighter to become a religious bigot - wizard - sorcerer to become a sword wielding pillar of pwn - holy archer rogue supposed to be a religious bigot, yeah we are capped on the roles we need. Anymore than this is overkill.

I'm the wizard, and I don't plan on handing the sword over to him anytime this millennium. We still don't have a DPS yet but I'm building into one.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
Michael has been effectively grounded yet again, and while it isn't his fault, I am tired of this back and forth. Stephen Aller , my close friend, has a new youth pastor at his church age 26, who actually DM's for dungeons and dragons. He is consistent, from Stephen I have heard that he is quite capable as a GM, and he wouldn't care much if we gave him pirated versions of stuff as well as the prd so that he can gm. I am going to try and set this up with Stephen.
A) This gives us a more experienced GM (no offense Michael)
B) This gives us a more consistent GM
C) This allows us to use the church as a meeting place, which is great because that way we don't gave to bother parents about space.
A, 2) With his experience from 3.5 I am sure he can quickly adapt to pathfinder (since it is only a change in a handful of basic rules, but primarily lore and class material changes).
Reply if you are interested in this setup.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
No offense taken lol.
Trust me, I am probably as mad if not more than you are about this. And actually, nope, not grounded. I was able to wiggle my way out of super-grounded status through much begging and squabbling, and the fact that my little brother is also suffering helped a lot.
That sounds like a great set up, Amos. I would still like to continue our campaign though, but if the other set up goes through I will be fine with stepping down as GM. It has been established at my household that Pathfinder will be tied with Grades. Low grades = no pathfinder. However, the definition of low grades has shifted many times, and this time it shifted to mean "Edline is Final, even when contradicted the by original graded item". So maybe i'll use study hall to do stuff besides minecraft :/
Anyways, sign me up, I seriously wanna try the Alchemist class.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
Whoa, Maestro. I'm surprised your parents let you on the forum even though you're in trouble. It's coo coo.
I will probably not be participating in the new setup, mostly because of time restrictions. When we started out, I had no idea if I would have enough time, but I was happy to see that our group of friends was doing something together.
I honestly do find Pathfinder fun, and I will try to see the current campaign to the end. But, I don't think I will be joining the new campaign.

Re: Pathfinder IRL
@Michael - inconsistent ability to show up will hinder you, as your character will not be leveled to match up with rest of the group for missed time. Join knowing that ahead of time.

Hey, now we can really be a church of proz...playing pathfinder....with some random 26 year old guy....sounds like GTO and megatokyo combined...

@Amos: I know, I just wanna be a player for once.
Great to hear that! I've got an epic campaign in store for you guys, just gotta get that damn edline straightened away.
Hey, you know, maybe we could put an academic section to our forum. Help each-other with our homework and stuff like that. I suggest something under the General Stuff section
