Originally vampires didn't die in the sun, they just couldn't use any of their powers (established in the Bram Stroker novel Dracula). But I agree, vampires nowadays are lame. Too many writters are going with the idea "the stories got it wrong". I mean if the stories got it wrong, they aren't vampires, they should be called something else.

vampires shouldn't be overpowered in the sunlight too, they should have a weakness, that was one OF THE MAIN PARTS OF VAMPIRES, that even with all these added on weaknesses like garlic; light and crosses were vampires weaknesses. If you are strong in the dark and the light - you aren't much better than a basic anime shounen brawler.

Ya know, they should make one of those, a shounen anime that has a ton of fighters that don't all follow a specific theme (like bleach : samurai, naruto : ninjas, one piece : pirates, Shaman king : traditional fighting styles) FMA had a ton of different themed people, that is probably what made the fight scenes so cool.

The nasuverse vampires are weaker in the sunlight it even affects arc to a certain degree and holy items do more damage to them as well dont know about garlic though it does make arc sick if she eats it so it may affect the DA as well.

FMA is great because it has a broad range of characters each with there own style and the brotherhood version introduces even more characters so it just keeps getting better.

well I watched the first one, Brotherhood is what I mean when I talk about FMA
a) it is just straight up better (art and story)
b) it is the legitimate story

I mean when you are that powerful, you are supposed to have some kind of balance, like a source of your power, that either 1. has a limited amount of energy (whether or not energy regenerates) or 2. Can only draw so much energy out of the source at a time (may be a time limit, a body damaging effect, mental damage, etc).

I've read through the 300 some they have so far, they kinda of have a pirate. But negima is varied types of girl fetishes, from a girl who controls internet, to a robot that has a satelite atomic laser as her special card, to the chick in the skimpy outfit who gets super strength. Truly, that show likes using every cross between girl and anything else. They gots their demon girls, ones from the future, etc.

Alucard is a japanese anime vampire, vampires used to have a lot more flavor and mystery to them now. The current day ones try to make a free ride off that idea while adding some shiz too them. Some of them are cool, but the ones that are, aren't cool because they are vampires, it is cuz they added on aton of op powerofpoo. Arc and all the other true ancestors could just as well have been called some weird ancestral race, and if you take out the word vampire, it would make no difference. The new day vampires just stick the word vampire in as their race, take a gimmick or 2, change them while they are at it, the rest of it is just new crap they put on.

My favorite not-quite-vampires are The Family from Fallout 3. What they really are are humans stuck with cannibalistic urges from birth and are generally outcasts from society. Vance gives them the Laws, which dictated that they shall never eat flesh only drink blood, never have children, only go outside at night to avoid attention, and so on. They call themselves Vampires but they're just normal people who are confused about what you should befriend and what you should devour. The Lone Wanderer (the PC) in every dialogue path possible notes how Vance is almost brainwashing his followers into thinking they have special powers, although Vance denies this.

My favorite werewolf is Free from Soul Eater. He's immortal and has super powers. However, he's also clumsy, and gets himself in a would-have-been-fatal situation about 6 times per day.
