It has really been a while since I updated the announcements...better start timestamping stuff! -- May 19th, 2011
But actually I stopped because my announcements are too trivial and nonsensical to be worth remembering.
I leave the following line up for nostalgia purposes as well:

Most of the changes are metagame, but they're pretty big:
Runes and Masteries are being fused into one system. This is a good change, one that should have happened a long time ago as it will greatly simplify and reduce the pre-game preparation needed for optimal champion synergy.
Influence Points are getting merged into Blue Essence from loot crafting as a general F2P currency. I'm leaning towards this being a good change since under the current system I've had a hard time getting enough Blue Essence to unlock Mastery 6 and 7 emotes, but as a natural consequence this will inflate the prices of everything you could get with either currency.

I'm pretty hyped for veteran rewards, I'm definitely slated to get that special legacy rune one and the Defender of the League emote.

@Zhu Yang RIPeroni in pepperoni, the cutoff date for rune refunds was actually September 1st so all the ones we bought these past few weeks aren't getting refunded Sad
