Correspondence (Unlimited Time) Go:
"Correspondence games are asynchronous, i.e. not real time. Before the Internet they used to be played via postal mail. In the early days of the Internet they were played via email.
Now with fancy web applications like http://www.dragongoserver.net and http://online-go.com it is typical for players to make one or two moves per day. So player 1 submits a move, and player 2 can respond to it at his leisure, often the next day, and so on.
It's great for people who are busy or have trouble finding a solid block of time for a full game. Also good for playing against friends in different time zones."
