Spiderman now in the MCU
This happened a couple weeks ago, but better late than never. There are not enough fake-comic-book-only-watched-the-movies fans among us. Anyway,
Sony finally released their stranglehold on their license to print movies! movies of spiderman! --jamestown
I didn't want to settle for anything less than the "most original" source, and decided this was it:

okay, now that I got that out it's time to dispense with the formalities.

HOLY FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU IT'S GARBAGE DAY
just think of all the Campbells chicken noodle soup, possibilities [corporate mind control intensifies]
"But what does it all mean?" Asks the filthy casual who doesn't watch superhero movies. Well, I'll tell ya:
Unfortunately, with great power comes great responsibility. Sony still has "creative control".

- Spiderman in the Avengers!
- Spiderman that's not Tobey Maguire!
- Spiderman that's not Andrew Garfield!
- Spiderman that's not a retarded reboot with another retarded origin story!
- Did I mention Spiderman will be in the Avengers?
- Continuity for the continuity god, crossovers for the crossover throne
Unfortunately, with great power comes great responsibility. Sony still has "creative control".
Re: Spiderman now in the MCU
Heard a rumor that they were thinking of making Peter Parker black. If they do bring a black actor to play spider-man, why don't they use Miles Morales? I know that there would have to be another origin story, but instead of a movie they could have short comic book that can be given away at free comic book day, or have it take place in their agents of shield tv show.

Hell no, and this is not because I don't think it would be awesome, but lately Whedon's been invokinga certain racist trope, and it would be truly sad for spidernigga to be plopped right in the middle of the ethnic cleansing campaign.kaede wrote:or have it take place in their agents of shield tv show.
Re: Spiderman now in the MCU
Will admit, I havent watched Agents of shield past episode 5 so I have no idea whats going on in it. If anything do something like they did with that agent carter miniseries. That way you don't have to watch 10+ episodes of a kinda dull show (though that could just be my general distaste for Whedon's shows.) just to see an origin story.
Also cracked up at spidernigga.

This might be my inner Whedonite speaking; shows that Joss is involved in are never dull. Maybe the characters are uninteresting or the plot can't be saved by any amount of self deprecating snark, but interesting, semi-actiony stuff goes down every episode. Nevertheless, Agents of SHIELD has the least involvement from the big man.
My curiosity's piqued now, which of Whedon's shows have you seen before?

Bits of buffy and the spinoff, firefly, cabin in the woods (though i liked that movie), and a few others I can't remember atm.

Firefly is what started it all for me. I see Agents of SHIELD as its reincarnation/spiritual successor.
