Divergence for GRONK's gallivanting on the planet surface starts here:

GRONK, you take a moment to froth in rage at your failure to hunt any of the blue venison down. While raging you see a swarm of shuttles from the Equinox flying overhead. Any attempts to hail them appear to go unnoticed and they fly off past the horizon. It will be night in five hours, what will you do?

Why would GRONK hail down the shuttles? He is bonding with his new squig, happy as a clam. He heads towards a nearby forest to set up a shelter. He hopes to avoid any possible rain. He is looking for large things with big teef however.

GRONK marches happily with his new and yet to be named squig. Gobsnark quietly follows the weirdboy curious why the squig continues to gnaw of GRONK's body. In three hours of possibly not quite linear travel GRONK and Gobsnark find a forest of exceptionally tall trees. If GRONK and Gobsnark were humans they might care to wonder why the forest is so unusual or just how high the trees are but as orks they give no shts. The daylight is almost gone and it looks very dark in the tall forest.

GRONK and Gobsnark will go to it with a will, cutting at the trees to form a shelter. GRONK will also order Gobsnark to start a fire. Minimal fire safety precautions are in effect.

Gobsnark picks up a fallen branch the size of an ork and drags it back to the pile of fluffy leaves you are waiting at. You two start a fire and sustain it with the bounty of leaves covering the forest floor. While Gobsnark cuts away at a tree you hear roars not too far away from your camp. At the sound of the roaring your squig goes ballistic and scurries off into the night in the direction of the roars.

"NOOOOOO, SQUIG!!!!!" GRONK yells. He grabs a big flaming stick in one hand, his staff in the other, and rushes off after his pet.

GRONK manages to tear a burning shard of wood from the log sized branch Gobsnark set aflame and runs after the squig deeper into the forest. Gobsnark sees his weirdboy fleeing the camp and gives chase while carrying a heap of leaves as fuel for GRONK's makeshift torch. The two orks and the squig run tirelessly through the forest making all sorts of noise. The squig finally stops and GRONK topples after it and Gobsnark catches up moments later. While GRONK is preoccupied trying reattain the wild squig Gobsnark takes the torch and looks forwards to where the squig has stopped. A huge mound of dirt many, many times larger than Gobsnark is placed in the middle of a large clearing amidst the trees.

The squig growls ferociously in the direction of the mound.

"Gobsnark, go pok de dirt wif da stik!!!" GRONK orders, holding his squig tenderly, as if holding a baby. Although the grasp appears delicate, his hands are iron-tight, not allowing the squig any movement whatsoever. Every so often he will release slightly to allow a few shallow breaths.

Gobsnark tosses his pile of leaves onto the burning log and takes out his kutta. He approaches the mound and pokes it firmly with the kutta. The first poke does nothing so Gobsnark tries and tries again. Finally something under the mound moves. The dirt rises and sinks and abruptly explodes sending earth everywhere. Multiple roars bellow forth from the center of the mound and three shadowy forms leap towards GRONK and Gobsnark. Their faces are poorly illuminated by the burning timber but the quirky orks can make out ursine forms with calcified ridges on their faces and shoulders. Each one is just a wee bit shorter than GRONK when they stand on four legs. GRONK might want to react immediately.

GRONK attempts to summon da powa of waaaagh but, failing in his power, he instead hurls his squig at the enemy. "SQUIG, KEEELLLL" he shouts.
