"Well, it looks like our plan worked, but the wrong group got attacked!" Lae'orenar is amused by this unfortuitous event. "What do you suggest, O Captain of Men?"

Desilco, thoroughly thrown off by the revelation, turns to the men waiting in the ambush. Waiving his hand in a circular gesture above his head he says "Men, it appears the ship was not hidden as well as we'd hoped. I want a scouting party to head up the tunnels the way we came and secure the shuttles outside. Everyone else gather the supplies and we're heading back in two minutes."

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
After attempting to hide The Equinox, Tristan scurried onto La Fortuna to patrol the area and support the landing crew. Learning of the sudden commotion, puts his augur arrays at full power and scours the area for the source of the threat. "Where are the prissy bastards coming from this time?" he curses under his breath.

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
Tristan only sees a haze of static on the augury array before him. He thought little of it since it had been this way since the Equinox's entry to this domain but clearly there was more to the confusion than just the sinister nature of their surroundings. He zooms off to the Equinox to unveil what is happening. 10 minutes pass with more and more half comprehensible vox casts from the crew, each one filled with static and screams. Tristan deftly maneuvers through the folds and turns of the webway and turns to see the situation with his own eyes. A dark eldar ship has launched hooks into the Equinox and the space around both vessels is filled with a swarm of small black dots, likely fighter craft.
Desilco and the others gather the supplies and immediately set out for the shuttles. Due to their current distance from the shuttles and the shuttles' own distance from the Equinox it will take a while for them to reach the action.

"Lord-Captain! Multiple bogies spotted swarming The Equinox! Cross-ship boarding is in progress. I don't think I can take all of them, but I can sure give them something to think about while you're on your way home. Am I clear to engage?"

Tristan takes a moment to size up the opposition. He tries to determine the number of active hostiles, how much of a threat they would pose to La Fortuna, and how hard it might be to dislodge the boarding ship. He'd like to strafe the boarding ship and then lead the fighters away from The Equinox, but he'll heed the Lord-Captain's warning if La Fortuna is grossly outgunned.

Tristan counts at least 50 dark eldar strike craft peppering the Equinox with dark lance fire. He grudgingly worries that La Fortuna may not be able to outpace the enemy strike craft for long.

"In the Emperor's name, what ass crack of the void are they pouring out of that we didn't see this coming?" Now voxing, Tristan shouts in frustration, "there's too many of them Lord-Captain. I'm on my way to your position. At the very least I can give you some covering fire as you before we have to storm our own blasted ship!"

"The Emperor Protects Mr Sky. The Emperor Protects."
Desilco puts away the vox caster and addresses the men as they hurry to the shuttles "Men, our darkest days are getting darker. I won't lie to you, I'm not sure if we'll survive this one or if the Emperor will even be able to bear witness to our desperate battle. But know this, today we kill xenos, vile to the core xenos that I will gladly take as many of with me to my grave. I don't know about the you, but there is no better service to the Imperium so lets send these bastards scurrying into the cracks they crawled out of"

"O Captain of Men, perhaps you have heard a famous quote from the Dark Eldar philosopher, Vilnator. "Discretion is the better part of valor.' I know you have little respect for me and my kind, but running foolishly into a combat you cannot hope to win (and honestly cannot hope to make a mark on the enemy) is foolish and does not serve your emperor."

"Then if you have a better idea speak up and stop speaking in quotes. The Equinox is the only hope we have of getting to realspace and if the entire crew is dead, enslaved, or otherwise incapacitated there's really no hope of living beyond the next three days now is there? We have only the bare minimum of rations here with us and nowhere remotely safe to escape to. If I have to cut my way through a thousand Eldar to save my ship and warrant of trade then I'll do it or die trying"

"There is a small enclave of Incubi just a few day's travel from here. We can gain food and rest there. It may be more useful to evacuate as many of your crew from the Equinox as possible and move out through the Webway. There are many standing portals to terrestrial environments; we can try and escape back to your 'realspace' through one and regain our forces."

"You seem deeply lost in thought, O Captain of Men. Let me tell you what I know of these Incubi. They are a fierce and proud warrior cult, dedicated to the quick kill. I honestly don't know what they are thinking of. The slow kills are the best; the sound of your enemies' blood dripping down their carved skin is the finest music. While they may be strange in their executions, they are quite capable, and we will lose many men in a direct assault."

"With all due respect, Captain of Men, you have lost your ship. You do not have enough men left after your blunders and losses to possibly contest it against a primed and attacking Dark Eldar voidship. Perhaps if they hadn't already launched their grapple hooks you may have a chance, but now you must think of how you can survive and save your crew for later. Claiming the Incubi outpost will give us a safe location to plan and survive."

"Given the small quantity of men we have available to us it is highly unlikely we could take a likely heavily fortified position from these Incubi. Our best hope is getting back to the ship and rallying what forces we can. Once we've done that we'll have to try and free the ship and blast them to kingdom come. Hopefully that will buy us time to get the Equinox away."

Desilco and the others board the shuttles and bravely charge the Equinox with the Fortuna following closely behind. As the shuttles swerve into view of the Equinox dark lance fire obliterates the second shuttle in an instant. Tristan furiously scans his auger arrays for the dark eldar strike craft but can't find anything.
The pilot in Desilco's ship yells out to the captain. "Lord Desilco, this shuttle cannot outpace the enemy fire. Are we still going to proceed sir?!"
Before Desilco utters a word an explosion bursts forth from the back end of the Equinox.

"There are several thousand on board that ship in need of our help. The Emperor may not be able to watch us here but I'll be damned if I let a proud vessel be destroyed by slavers without a fight. Those too cowardly to face the enemy fire may retreat if they wish. Maybe you'll find the torture cells of the Eldar to be more to your liking than dying a free man!"
"Mr Sky, I won't ask you to take us on a suicidal charge, but it's better than the alternative of a slow and painful death."

"Lord-Captain, as your helmsman, I must obey your commands. But, as one of your explorators, I am honor bound to offer my advice in critical situations."
"Maybe you remember, maybe you don't, but the day we met I was running for my life. The battle between The White Ravens, a local rebel group on my homeworld, and the Imperium had taken a turn for the worse. The kind of turn that only an Alpha grade psyker can manage. I'm the only surviving White Raven that I know of, and I intend to keep on surviving for a very long time."
"I'm not saying I'm going to leave you to die, I like you and The Equinox way too much, but in the White Ravens we had a saying: "When we loose, we win." We "lost" far more battles than we won, but we didn't see it that way. A captured raven was a suicide bomber with a free access to Imperial prison. A battle gone sour in one sector meant an opening in the Imperium's defenses in another. When we lost a ship to them, we could track its signal to find hidden Imperial bases. In the best cases, we could remotely transmit Scrap-code and take critical enemy systems offline."
"What I'm saying is, I have unfinished business, so I plan on making it out of here alive. There are better ways of taking The Equinox back than throwing our lives at it, we just have to be clever."

Desilco, moved by Trstans words (possibly because someone who isn't xenos is trying to talk sense into him), looks out of the craft at the erupting fires now engulfing the Equinox. His head clears of his rage as he calms down and ponders on Tristans words
"Mr Sky, I appreciate your words of wisdom. It brings me shame to say that we must leave the crew of the fair lady to slavery, but with luck they will not have to endure their torture for long."
Desilco clenches his fist as he asks Lae'orenar a question he's almost certain he knows the answer to. "Lae'orenar, where will the slavers take the crew and the ship? Are they planning on taking them to the dark city of Camorough or will they be stopping at another port with their grisly trophy in tow?"

"Without knowing their exact identities, it is hard to say. I do not know of a nearby port where a ship of this size would dock however. After they capture this ship, they will most likely move on to Commorragh."
Lae'orenar then clears her throat. She has spent enough time with Desilco to realize that he will not take her next few sentences well. "In addition, O Captain of Men, I believe you may be operating under some misconception. We Dark Eldar are not slavers like you humans. They will not save them and treat them well. As soon as they are captured, they will begin devising crueler and more sadistic tortures than you could ever dream. Their anguish and suffering shall keep our souls pure, uncorrupted, and safe from She Who Thirsts."
As she finishes her speech, Lae'orenar struggles to keep her desire for torture and pain hidden. She secretly wishes that she was on board the Dark Eldar ship. Despite her whims however, she has begun to despise the humans slightly less than when they first met.

"I am aware of the horrors that will be inflicted upon them. I can only hope that the men can last long enough. Perhaps Karitoss will be able to entertain them long enough with his strange fascination for your kind for Joachim and Novalez to be spared. Without them any hope of a real escape is only fleeting."
Desilco turns away from the explosions and carnage occurring on the Equinox unable to bear it anymore.
"Mr Sky, lead us away from this carnage. We will have to hold out for some time to avoid their searching for us. Find us an out of the way location where we can lick our wounds"
Turning back to Lae'orenar "Now then Eldar, How would one go about infiltrating the dark city of Camorragh?"

Lae'orenar steeples her hands. Â Everything is turning out for the best in these dark times. Â
"Well, O Captain of Men, getting into Commorragh is quite simple. Â All roads lead to Commorragh you know! Â Before we have to deal with sneaking our way into the finest city in the galaxy however, we have to make our way there first. Â Let's start on our journey, and we can discuss our options on the way there." Â
She swirls around and begins walking. Â She strides ahead of the men, singing a hauntingly cheerful Dark Eldar song. Â If any of the humans could see her face behind her ghostplate helmet, they would see her smiling widely.
(Rolling on Roll20 for navigating to Commorragh).

"Before we get out of here, I suggest we leave a message with Tech-Priest Karitoss. Of course anything we send will be tortured out of him. We'll need a way to find the ship again, and preferably a way to strike the Eldar from the inside. If we had a way to transmit Scrap-code, that would be ideal, but that may be hoping for too much. We need an encoded message, something that Karitoss can act on but the Eldar would have no way of understanding..."

"If we have the means I can send a message in a secret tongue. However, I doubt that Karitoss would be able to translate the message as I do not believe he knows it. It is entirely possible that sending any message will only lead to our deaths and we will have to act with haste. Presumably we can find the Equinox later but, unfortunately, we know not the name of the vessel currently taking my ship or its captain. The best way to do that would be to hide and wait for one of their fighter or landing craft to wander off and capture one of them. Of course this could prove fruitless and only serve to waste time. These times are dark and we may have to simply hope that Karitoss and the rest can hold out under torture long enough for us to rescue them"

Desilco ignores the annoying Eldar. "As is we have no way of sending them a message without blowing what cover we have. Our best bet is to continue on and use the motivation of killing the Eldar leading us if it turns out to be useless. At least we'll get to die knowing that that one is going with us. Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
The group swerves off to a webway cavern and solemnly abandon the Equinox to her xenos predators. Tristan leaves behind the La Fortuna with a heavy heart and does his best to hide as much as he can. They run into the darkness of the webway as far as their legs will take them before collapsing in exhaustion. After several hours of rest the group picks themselves up and march forward. The hours turn into a day, and then two more days before the party nears a populated area.
It is only beknownst to Lae'Orenar that they near the darkest reaches of Commorragh the dark city. Worse, they approach the city from below and risk entering the domain of the Haemonculi laboratories. Even Lae'Orenar fears stepping into their labyrinthine domain and rightly so. It would take a miracle of the grandest degree to see the group make it through that damned place. Alas, the only other route available to them would be straight through the prison and torture catacombs attached to the gladiator pits of Commorragh. If Desilco and his men traveled there they would surely be enslaved and made to fight for the enjoyment of the Dark Eldar. The choice between the two grim fates falls to Lae'Orenar.

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
Now that the party has paused, Lae'orenar approaches Desilco and Tristan (and anyone else who is important in this group). She then relays the information to Desilco:
"Well, O Captain of Men, it looks like we've made it!" She pauses for a moment, sniffing the air loudly. "Ah, can you smell that fear and blood and pain? There's no place like home."
"Now, as much as I want to reminisce about the good old days I've spent here, we have to be serious. We need a good way to get into the City. Last time I was here, I was run out in disgrace, but as long as I don't see any of that nasty old Archon's men, I should be alright. The rest of you however, pose a problem." She circles Desilco, stroking her chin as her eyes roam up and down his body. "Unfortunately, you stand out. There is no way we could trick my kind into thinking your scrawny human form was an Eldar. Perhaps there is another way..."
She cocks her head to the side for a moment before continuing. "You all should pretend to be my captives. Many bands of slaves march through Commorragh on a regular basis. One more should draw no attention. We will move to one of my friend's homes. Hopefully he shall let us stay the night. Then, once my friend falls asleep, we can murder him and claim his home for ourselves!!" She cackles for a moment at the thought, then returns to her mock seriousness.
"Of course, O Captain of Men," she whispers to Desilco, faux sincerity dripping of her voice, "I am most unpleased to inform you that we may lose some, even most, of your human chattel on the approach. The Dark Eldar are not ones to respect property, and with only one of me I shall be forced to give up some of your men. They shall suffer and die to keep us safe and free." She smiles sadly, brushing away an imaginary tear, and then breaks out into cheerful speech once more.
"Well then, any questions! We'll be moving up through the gladiatorial pits so people won't be surprised to see you all armed and armored. Besides, its not like you could do any serious harm, even with those guns!"

Desilco palms the hilt of his sword as Lae'orenar paces around him obviously not amused
"I was well aware of the eventuality that we would have to pose as slaves. Personally I do not know how great of an idea it is for myself to walk in my armor through a foreign city wielding the equipment I have in the open. Would gladiatorial combat not mean hand to hand or blade to blade work? Bringing guns through these places seems to me like a good way to blow our cover."

Lae'orenar laughs, amused by the barbarity of these humans.
"Perhaps in your home you force your slaves to fight hand to hand, but we are much more, what is your word, cultured than your savage artists. Of course we fight in the beautiful melee, but no combat is complete without lasers tearing through the air, splinters burying themselves in flesh, leading to the most agonizing screams, or the whisper of monofilaments as they shred flesh into a mist. You may raise a few eyebrows with your confidence and apparent health. We may have to douse you in some blood and mark you with a wound or two."
Lae'orenar carefully keeps her face still as she speaks. She doesn't want Desilco to see how excited she is to finally cut someone again.

"That gives me an idea. If I remember correctly, you said the Dark Eldar are the greatest pilots in the galaxy. Perhaps they would be interested if you claimed you had found a slave who could best one of them. Of course this slave of yours is only at his best when flying with a crew of precisely 12 humans. Do you catch where I'm going with this?"

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
Lae'orenar arches an eyebrow.
"And then I suppose you expect them to toss you in a fighter of some sort and then you will fly away scott free? It is certainly an ... audacious plan." She considers it for a moment more, then shakes her head. "I do not believe it would work as well as you hope however. As excellent a pilot as you are, you would be only equally matched, if that, against our Dark Eldar pilots. Not to mention that this plan would have you placed in a ship requiring twelve humans to fly!"
She then turns to address the other crewmen gathered around. "Do any of you have any experience running human fighters? It was my understanding that you are clumsy mercenaries."
She then returns her attention to Tristan, and her eyes tighten to slits. "Besides, your plan would leave me behind in the dust. If you succeed, and beat my brethren, then I shall be murdered for allowing a slave such license. If you fail, and are beaten by my brethren, then I shall be murdered for bringing such a disappointing spectacle to the Archon. Your plan requires much refinement, and I am not sure how much time we have before a patrol stumbles upon us."

"Refinement indeed, you underestimate human cleverness Twinkleface. Stealing the fighter craft would only get us shot down and no where closer to recovering our ship. Before we can even think about leaving, we need information.
First, we win a match. If publicized correctly, this should draw the attention of your dog-fighting aficionados, one of which is bound to have a connection to the raid that captured our ship. As our manager, you then wager on our win information on that raid, no questions asked. After winning the second match, all the pieces will be in place. We'll have the information we need, all personnel intact, and access to an escape vessel.
Granted, winning two battles against your kin will be easier said than done, but I am sure they will underestimate our skill initially. Once we've won a match, the next one will be much harder, but they'll want to keep us alive. I imagine entertainment like that doesn't come along to your world all too often. It's far from full-proof, but it's the only one so far that even has a chance of getting us out of here unscathed. I'll be damned if I have to spend one day as a slave to your kind."

"As much as I wouldn't mind seeing Lae'orenar left behind to be butchered we need to recognize that an escape would accomplish little without a warp capable vessel. Not only that, but to pilot one would take several hundred men minimum. If possible we should try and use any leeway we can gain to learn of a way out of the Webway and possibly to an entrance. Such information could prove invaluable and make a comeback from these misfortunes all the more likely."
To Tristan "If you are confident in your abilities Mr Sky it could prove useful, once we have a base of operation, to have one of us play the part of a human slaver. I imagine the notion of a human of that likes would not prove to foreign a concept to the Dark Eldar and could prove to peek interest in us."

"We have had many dealings with the slavers of your kind. They are generally less used to pain, and they scream the loudest," Lae'orenar responds with a wolfish smile. "I still fail to understand how you plan to fly a warp-capable ship out of Commorragh, and the Webway itself. And what base of operations do you refer to? A base that we shall find in Commorragh? We have quite a ways to go before we can find anywhere to call home."
She then turns to Tristan. "And as for you, Space Cowboy, you may hate pretending to be my slave, but I can guarantee you would like actually being my slave even less. Not to mention you have not made it clear how winning two dogfights (as if you could even do such a thing) will grant us information AND intact personnel AND an escape vehicle. We have nothing even approximating the value of the Equinox and her crew."

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
Desilco interjects before Tristan can make a (probably witty, hilarious, and well deserved) retort "Let me answer you questions with a point you yourself have already made. You said we will make our way into Cammorragh and take this "friend" of yours life and home. His home will act as our base of operations and provide us with the funds to go about our venture. I presume that betrayal happy people like yourselves have a rather streamline method of taking over someones possessions when they are killed."
Realizing that his cloak has become somewhat wrinkled in all the days problems Desilco pauses to smooth it out against the armor he's wearing.
"Now as to how we will procure a warp capable vessel there are three things we will need. One is Karitoss, Novalez, and Karitoss as without them nothing will work. Second is money and men which we can get from either buying slaves or causing a revolution. And, finally, three is my Write of Trade as it is as valuable as a whole fleet"

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
All this back and forth is making Tristan visibly tired. Loosing two beloved ships in a day is one thing, but having to sit around and talk for this long is quite another. He turns to the Eldar.
"Before our plans get any further, I think it's time we now why you left in the first place. If I'm going to be your *echem* slave, pretend or not, then I need to know you're not going to be arrested on sight. Besides, your situation might be the key in getting out of here."

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
"I can promise you that I will not be arrested on sight. Commorragh has nothing so archaic as a police force. I am in much greater danger of being assassinated once we reach the city!" She sighs as if about to embark on a long journey.
"My tale is one as old as time. I was once a simple little Dark Eldar child. Unlike my lesser brethren I was not birthed from the cloning vats, but from my own mother. Ah, what a lovely woman. I can still remember her shrieks! 'Lae'orenar, not my eyes!! Please, no, at least leave me my eyes!!!' How she screamed."
Reminiscing, Lae'orenar reaches into her armor and pulls out a locket. She looks at the picture inside for a moment. If anyone was close enough to see inside, they would find a picture of a broken corpse, with eyes gouged out, broken limbs and teeth, covered in savage burns and cuts.
"I soon left home for the pleasures of the dance. My father was a strict man, well on his way to becoming an Archon. He believed I should follow in his footsteps, and enter the game of thrones that is played in Commorragh. But I lived to dance! The feel of my muscles responding precisely to my wishes. When I danced, I brought the audience to tears! And I brought death to my partners."
With these words, Lae'orenar begins a hauntingly beautiful dance. Her ghostplate armor, with its pockets of lighter-than-air gas, allows her to make inhuman leaps, and her grace is beyond imaginable. As she dances, she continues speaking, her movements becoming more frantic and sincere.
"I joined the Hekatarii, that marvelous cabal of dancers, nay, of artists! I fought my way through the ranks, proving myself with every dance until I had earned my place in the Cult of Strife!! Oh the honor!! Oh the beauty!! I gazed upon the very face of Her Excellence, Lelith Hesperax, the Queen of Blades!! I saw her glide through Orks, through Tyranids, through your bulky Astartes as if they were nothing more than a sheet of rain. Her bloodsport is unparalled. Life is barely worth living without her artistic genius!!!"
Lae'orenar crumples to the floor, apparently exhausted by her dance. She finishes her speech in a whisper, overwhelmed with memories of her past. "I stretched too far, and tried to reach the Sun. In my arrogance, I claimed this armor, and this Klaive for my own. The Incubi did not approve of my decisions, and brought in their Archon to hunt me down. I was forced to flee from ... MY OWN FATHER!!!!!!"
She pants with despair, anger and terror. Dark Eldar feel emotions more intensely than humans, and Lae'orenar is no exception.
"Now, we may try your plan. I offer you no guarantees; we Dark Eldar are unpredictable at best. I cannot imagine that we will value your Writ as much as a human. The Dark Eldar do not rely on a scrap of paper signed by your Corspe-Emperor to keep our ships. As for a revolution, while there is little chance of success, the slave revolts often draw attention. There is little as enjoyable as crushing the slaves, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of their women."

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
Desilco barely restrains himself against the audacity of what Lae'orenar has said. Reflexively his right hand reaches for his sword and he pulls it half out of the scabbard. The electricity crackling about the blade is audible to everyone within the tunnel.
Clearly close to the breaking point. Desilco says "I do not care for what sorrows you may have suffered in your life because it clearly was not as much as you deserve. Just make sure that your abomination of a father doesn't find out who you are. We're done discussing this, everyone get some rest as we have a lot of work to do."
Desilco slams the cross guard of the sword back into the scabbard and storms off with his cloak flowing behind him.

As he storms off, Lae'orenar almost calls after him, but restrains herself. She points and whispers to Tristan, "He missed a wrinkle!" With a swirl of hair, she then disappears into a nearby tunnel to take her rest.

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
Tristan is surprised to find himself alone with the men. "Uhh, well, the Lord-Captain didn't say so, but we'll need a rotating watch while we rest. We'll need two men at each opening at every hour of the night, err, day, err... however in The Emporer's name you refer to time in this place. I'll help with the first watch, then its up to you lot to sort out the rest. We clear? Good. We need to be in tip top shape if we want to make impressive slaves."
Tristan rolls his eyes. "If I were the Lord-Captain, I would give a rousing speech to strengthen our resolves against the hardships to follow. Too bad for you lot, I'm not. So fuck it, try not to die tomorrow."

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
The next morning (assuming nothing goes wrong in the night) Lae'orenar lays out her plan.
"We shall ascend through the gladiatorial torture chambers. Do not speak to any Dark Eldar unless directly addressed. If you should be so unlucky as to speak to one such as me, avoid eye contact and for Khaine's sake keep your smart tongue in your head." She glares directly at Tristan. "We will move up as quickly and unobtrusively as we can. Hopefully we can avoid any major contact with troublemakers, but we may have to fight to prove your cover as gladiators. Once we reach my friend's house I will convince him to allow us in, and then we'll stab him to death. Any questions before we head out?"

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
Desilco, having blown off the steam from the previous day by yelling into a tunnel a ways off and punching a wall, speaks up as he massages his knuckles.
"Everyone will need to keep close. So pair up and watch each other to make sure you don't attract any attention. If it comes to it we'll play ourselves off with you all as my slaves and my patron being the Eldar here. If it comes to it I'll take the place in the ring. You all have suffered enough because of recent events and I'm not willing to send more men unecissarily to their deaths. With any luck we'll see this day through and be spilling some filthy blood on the floor of their own home in hell. Dismissed"
Before everyone shoves off he takes Tristan aside "Mr Sky, I probably don't need to tell you this but your life is more important than these others. We will need your skills to get through these next several days. However, if the Eldar shows any signs of betraying us, which I hole heartedly expect, then I want you to shoot it and we'll have to try and play it off as what anyone in Cammorrough would do. I won't give it the satisfaction of living if we're stuck in hell to be tortured for eternity"

"Naturally, Lord-Captain. If things do go sour, we should have a signal. In the Ravens, when you heard a bird call, it meant it was time to start shooting everything in sight." As Tristan utters that last part, his lip curls up in a faint smile.

Re: Wait! It's dangerous out there, take two!
The party leave behind any and all weapons they cannot hide under their clothing. There a few among the surviving grunts that are resistant to submitting themselves to a Dark Eldar but even they recognize that this is the way that bears even a glimmer of hope. Lae'Orenar leads the company upwards towards the outer edge of the gladiator slave pens. Within an hour the group reaches a ruined entrance constructed from the tell tale black and warped xenos alloy of the Dark Eldar. Desilco and his trusted advisers follow after Lae'Orenar with nervous anticipation, for as far as they know this could have all been a twisted xenos game and around the corner lies not slaves and jail cells but torture tables and nightmarish sadists. Alas, Lae'Orenar appears true to her word so far. The group finds themselves in an empty hall lined with cells of various sizes and makes. Lae'Orenar does not give the humans much time to observe the first entry into the twisted domain of her kin, she is eager to take them out to the streets and temporarily live the fantasy of being slave master to this lot. And so the group marches up and around the sharp and sleek metal halls of this prison. Finally (perhaps, dreadfully) Lae'Orenar leads the group into the hustle and bustle of the main pens. It is a terror to behold, dark eldar can be seen whipping and domesticating humans and xenos alike at every corner. Broken and battered tau and orks pathetically walk down the hall in shackles. Further down the hall the group spies a myriad of towering armed xenos species they have never witnessed or heard of being forced in their direction.
[All save Lae'Orenar must roll a fear test]
Immediately upon the party's entrance three Dark Eldar approach Lae'Orenar. Their slim and lithe ebon armor has relatively little decoration and flair for Dark Eldar, to Lae'Orenar this indicates their status as low ranking slave handlers though to the rest of the group these aliens could be officers or individuals of equivalent rank as far as they are concerned. One of them speaks out to Lae in Eldar: "Tis rare to observe a wych in the lower halls of Kai'ak'tu. Perhaps even more rare is finding unshackled mon-keigh walking in the halls in such lavish garb." the very same one turns to the humans in the group and says: "Strip, cattle. Remove your holder's belongings from your backs."

A cold sweat breaks out all along Karitoss' organics, as the sights and sounds of torment soak deep into his psyche.
All the smugness and bravado from before has evaporated.
"No...oh nooooo..." He clutches his head, shaking it about erratically.
"W-why? Why didn't I speak up before this? WHY DID I LISTEN?"
His breathing is rapid and labored. "Stupid! StupidstupidstupidstupidSTUPID!!"
Several whips crack in near synchrony, and Karitoss flinches from the aural impact.
"O-Omnissiah! Oh sweet Omnissiah! No...we are beyond his help..."
