Vampire Hunt CoP:OF Edition

I'm leaving out the church judge and siblings unless you really want it. Sign up h33r.
This is a social reasoning game, where an informed minority(vampires) lurks disguised among the uninformed majority(church knights). Vampires all know who each other are, but knights know nothing. The game progresses through alternating day and night rounds. During a day round everyone votes to have a member killed. The knights must try to guess who is a vampire and try to get the most votes for their execution before too many knights are killed. What the vampires SHOULD do (if they're intent on winning) is mislead the voting into killing important members of the church. During the night round, the vampires all vote on a knight to attack and kill. Church wins by killing all the vampires, vampires win when the number of knights is equal to the number of vampires (because the votes won't be fair anymore). To make the game more interesting special roles are added:
Head the of Tohno Clan - A knight with the ability to see whether a person is a vampire or not. the head can check one person per night round.
Burial Agent - Assassin Knight that can kill a single person by himself during a night round, a one use power.
Alchemist - Medic Knight that can 'save' one person per night round from vampire attack. You can save yourself, but I don't think your team will appreciate it.

However, it seems very thought/post-intensive. How much would we have to do exactly to meet our roles?

it doesn't really require a lot of posts, unless you guys want to do realistic role playing and stuff. All you have to do is post once a day with your day kill vote, and then if you have a night round ability thing then you do that via PMs, or if possible by gchat to me.

basically, there are two factions: Catholics and Vampires
Its the catholics goal to kill all the vampires, its the vampires goal to kill all the catholics
the turns are divided into two rounds day and night.
during the day, all the catholics vote for whom they will kill and kill them.
during the night all the vampires vote for whom they will kill and kill them.
special characters have special abilities that they can use at various times, normally in the opposing team's round.
this is my understanding, is it correct?

Ok larry's understanding is ALMOST correct, but he hasn't applied the mafia mechanic: the vampires are disguised members of the church, and vampires win when the number of remaining knights is equal to the vampires. Oh and we are not doing the neutral roles, so all special abilities are used at night.
Tohno clan head can check a person to see if they are a vampire or not, once per night round.
Burial Agent can kill any one person by themselves during a night round.
Alchemist can choose a person to protect from vampire night attacks.

Glad to have you. And fyi everyone I'll be killing off a fake person to start the game, because we can't afford to autokick someone due to our small numbers. According to the basic gameplay someone has to die initially so I'll stick to tradition.

If you want a 2 round game than yes.

and its like 85% or 99% sure that with that small a number the vampires win.

no matter who wins its going to be a really short game. And the reason the special roles are there is to balance it out against the vampires.

urgh we really need 10 for a small game, you can just do the math say there are 2 vampires out of 7, humans need to take out vampires in the first 2 votes or be almost sure to lose.

either way the game lasts a total of 3 rounds at max and really can only go two ways, depending on whether knights hit or miss the first round. Remember people if you're not lynching a vampire you're lynching one of your own. A game with 7 is simple enough that I already calculated every single possibility in less than 5 minutes.

Theory-

1st round Hit: 1 vampire to 5 knights, vampire kill takes it down to 4. If they miss again vampires win (2 die bring it down to 1 to 1 meaning vamp victory) if knights hit they win. 2 rounds and its over.

1st round Miss: 2 vampires to 4 knights, vampire kill takes it down to 3. A 2nd round miss is vampire victory (2v2), a hit makes it 1 to 3, then vampire kill takes it down to 1 to 2. Hit is knight win, miss is vampire win. Knights are highly unlikely to hit though, seeing that they missed the first time meaning a loss. 3 rounds at best and its over.

So as you can see we need more members for things to be interesting.
