The Y List

I have remarkably poor organization skillz, because the Y list is technically lower than the Z list in terms of quality. This is the list of the lowest of the low, so called the Y list because "Y would you ever consider reading " (I am so punny >.<) See, the mangas in the Z list must at least have SOME redeeming qualities, since they have such large fanbases. These guys however, are bad to the bone. Do not even think about reading/watching them.

1. Chaosic Rune <mo>: This ranks higher than even the Yugioh sequels, since its just a gay parody of it. This has more protagonist pumping up than probably any other manga besides dbz because according to amos no one can beat death rex.
2. Yugioh 5D's <a>: I read the wikipedia article and it made NO sense. I don't think they're even playing duel monsters anymore. "I finally found out what the D stands for in Yugioh 5D's! Don't watch it!"
3. Yugioh GX <eda>: This is lower only because it didn't have card games on motorcycles. What it did have was a shotgun that fired tradng cards. Plus there was a guy there that looked like someone from One Piece.
4. Mario <eda+vg>: The video games are exempted from the Y rating, they're just there for reference. This cartoon was retarded and disgusting, so much so that its the premier video source for Youtube Poops. Unlimited Spaghetti Works!
5. Legend of Zelda <eda+vg>: As I recall this had a manga as well. Like Mario, the video games for this franchise are awesome and do not belong here. But the cartoon series is the 2nd most popular source of youtube poops.

Studio Ghibli powerofpoo:

1. My Neighbor Totoro <flm>: omfg. this is a kids movie. big friendly stuffed animals and barney cthulhu. Lead Voice Actor is Dakota Fanning, but that doesn't mean you should give it a try. I don't want to think about why they had the dad take a bath with his two small daughters, or a bunch of other stuff.

2. Kiki's Delivery Service <flm>: This is just a Coming of Age thing (Catcher in the Rye people -.-) except with the theme that Our Witches are Different! They're not. They use the Harry Potter standard except they aren't in hiding. With all the really stupid panty shots, the gay freckled white boy with glasses who's the lead guy, and the whole cat relationship crap, I recommend you take the cover and photoshop it to something more decent, say Shiki's Delivery Service. Sadly, that is more decent in most any subtext you can think of.

3. The Cat Returns <flm>: Its been a while since I last watched it, so I think it might deserve C rating. What do you think?

A typical episode of yugioh 5ds:
A street urchin with no education or engineering background who somehow managed to build a flying motorcycle plays a childrens card game of life and death against a descendent of the incas who has a giant flying purple whale and rides around on a giant tricycle.
In another episode, Yusei travels 8 miles in 2 minutes on a motorcycle traveling 250 km/h while playing a childrens card game against a cop.

There are mario and zelda cartoons (we have the vhs in the basement at work gathering dust) and there has been a manga for several of the games such as OOT MM and the oracle series the mangas are generally ok but the one cartoon series sucks more.

Or maybe its because they both blatantly stole many of the elements from both Dune and Starship Troopers.
40k has the Space Marines that work for the Emperor (Dune: Imperials) and Starcraft has the Terran (Starship troopers: The government of Earth is called the Terran Federation).
40k has what can be called "Futuristic-Medieval Tech" and a lack of AI's in its early years (Dune: Focus on knife fighting, Guild's lack of AI in the first couple of novels), Starcraft has men in super powerful robo-suits fight a horde of aliens that are psychically controlled by a overmind (Starship troopers: Marauder suits, MI, and the Arachnids).
40k has wars that are fought over religion more often than not (The Crusades and Dune: Muhab Dib), Starcraft has a race of advanced aliens that are tall and lithe and at first at war with Terran until they recognize the alien horde as a common enemy (Starship Troopers: the Skinnies).
The list goes on.

I'm not saying its exactly the same, only that Starship Troopers heavily, heavily inspired Starcraft.

yes but Starship Troopers has influenced 80-90% at the lowest of all Science Fiction written since it came out.
and Dune is even more influential, the film was better too (and by film I mean mini-series)

wow, I love gunslinger girl... wtf are you talking about, its one of the most emotional (as in you feel really bad for the girls) shows there is. How many eps did u watch? I've read the entire manga and watched both seasons. You need to actually stay with it to understand it.

You want to know why they frowning? The girls all freaking almost died and were forced to become weapons for the government. As weapons, they are not allowed to make friends with anyone but other weapons and handlers. In addition, they constantly get experimented on with new drugs that all have a chance of shortening their lives by like 20 years. I think it makes sense for the normal people taking care of the girls and most of the girls to be frowning.

At some points, I thought it was a better tearjerker than Clannad. It should not be in this list.

As for tsukihime and fsn and that other one - THEY ALL SUCKED ASS IN MANGA FORM, tsukihime died in anime form, just leave em to their original formats, books and VN's do NOT have a solid transition into full on animation or primarily picture reliant story telling.

Like all the human soldiers are like mega engine powered grappling shot powered super assassins - its one of those humanity survives as their small trained squad of elite soldiers fight against titanic forces in and die a lot. Quite a few mangas like that when you get down to it.
