Bullshit RPG: The Path

Jose and Nikolai wake up finding their vision obscured. It seems a cloth has been tied around your faces.
You feel the earth, cold and bumpy behind their backs as they lay face up.
Your hands our bound by a coarse rope, the fraying strands licking at their wrists.
You hear the echoes of soft footsteps in the distance.

Jose uses his prison breaking skillz to undo the ropes on his hands.

From the perspective of Nikolai, a strange humming sound begins emanating from Jose's position.
It becomes apparent that Jose is exerting GREAT FORCE and that he is hearing the laborious moan of a wronged man, struggling to fight against the system.
The faint footsteps in the distance stop.
"what-what-what are you doing?"

"I CAN BREAK THESE CUFFS!"
Jose declares in an arbitrary and powerful voice.

Immediately, the unknown voice inquiring about Jose's actions responds in an stern assured voice.
"You can't break those cuffs."

"AAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHHH."
Jose breaks his cuffs.



You hear many hurried footsteps, approaching on your position.

Jose pulls down his blindfold to the point that he can slightly peer over cloth, and sits back down, with his hands hidden under his ass, to pretend that his cuffs weren't just broken.

Jose sees that he's in a corner of a shoddily dug tunnel.
5 cloaked figures round the corner and notice that Jose's blindfold is down.

"Hey, fix that blindfold. He can see."
One of the cloaked figures approaches Jose.

While the cloaked figures are distracted by Jose, Nikkolai maneuvers his hands below his feet, and then uses his legs to BREAK DESE CUFFS, as quietly and quickly as possible.

He then attempts a FLYING DROP KICK on the nearest cloaked figure, jumping with full power.

Nikolai jumps, bending his knees to allow his arms to swing under his feet.
Unfortunately, he misjudges the motion and ends up swinging his arms a bit too far forwards.
Nikolai finds himself in an awkward situation; he lands on his feet behind his still-bound hands as he squats on the ground.

Nikolai jumps up, propelling him towards the sound of what he imagines to be cloaked figures, but can't confirm, since he's blindfolded. Midair, the thick-thighed Russian extends his legs forward with the intention to ram them into the body of his adversaries.
Gracefully, Nikolai soars through the air, meeting no resistance but the ground as he lands sideways.

two of the cloaked figures run towards Nikolai, presumably to restrain him.

Seeing that Jose and Nikolai are just frozen still, not doing anything, the cloaked figures slowly and carefully put Jose's blindfold and bindings back on as well as get Nikolai's arms behind his back while also binding both characters' legs.

"Now, if you'll please stop yer squirm'n, we just wanna talk for a bit."

Nikkolai gasps. There it was again! Something had frozen time for him!

TOKI WA TOMARE



WHO WAS DOING THIS??!!! WHO HAD THE POWER TO CONTROL TIME AND SPACE AS SUCH??!!!!!!

"Who...who are you?" says Nikkolai, still dazed.

OOC: if you don't want me to assume time is flowing, then post. I'll assume you aren't doing anything if it's been a while (~1.5-2 days) since the last post in a thread.

"We are the ones asking the questions here. Now, will you settle down and comply or not?"

OOC: That's totally reasonable, and Nikkolai is reacting to that fact in-universe.

"Of course, my friend. Although I could use a glass of water..."

"First, tell us why you were going around swindleton telling slaves that you're trying to free them. Why would you do that in broad daylight when the master could hear you if you were any more obvious."

"About that, since we are new here, the slavers will probably just think that we are asking for directions or sumptin if they ever see us from far away. We made sure there were no master looking people when we talked, so if the news gets out it would be obvious who ratted us out,"

Jose pauses because he had to take a breath after his long exposition in English, before continuing.

"And also, since we are foreigners, even if news gets out that we want to free the slaves, and the slavers believe it, they would come after us and not you guys, since we obviously have nothing to do with you guys, having been taken back here days ago by the slavers themselves. You guys can even prove your loyalty towards the slavers by trying to capture us when the news gets out, so they will lower their guards to their supposedly 'loyal' slaves, and make it easier for you guys to succeed when time comes."

Jose takes another breath before finishing.

"Its all part of the International Socialist Worker's Party's strategy."

"Seems pretty suspicious to me... I don't think I trust you. Why would I believe that you're telling the truth..."

You hear hurried footsteps coming from farther down. It sounds like someone is running towards the person you are now talking to. The footsteps stop when they reach the voice and you hear some shuffling and what sounds to be whispering, though you can't make out what's being said.
"Oh, you're roamers. I guess that makes it fairly unlikely that you're immediately loyal to the farmers' cause, though we can't immediately trust you either. Tell us of your culture; tell us of this 'international socialist worker's party'".

"I don't know about mi Rusa amigo over here, but I am a man born on the streets. When I was just a nino, me and mi amigos lived in poverty, doing odd jobs and hard labor to survive. Sometimes when I see the rich driving their luxury cars past our neighborhood, I would wonder, 'what gives them the right to live in luxury while us hardworking peoples lived like animals?'"

Jose shook his head.

"Thankfully, when I grew up, I met my good friend Juan, from Cuba, who answered my questions."

Jose took a deep breath.

"And the answer is, no! We workers were the true masters of the world, the elites were merely keeping us down with their dirty tricks, and cheating us of our rightful place. We rose up in revolt against the self entitled pigs, to take back what is rightfully the workers'."

"The international socialist worker's party is an organization that works tirelessly to spread the ideals of common ownership and classlessness. After all, we workers all have rightful claim to a part in society, and so we must overthrow the elitist oppressors and seize what is ours!"

"Even though I ended up in a foreign world all of a sudden, seeing the indignation that you people suffered reminded me of the ideals that I had struggled for all my life."

Sniffling can be heard all around you.
Your blindfolds are removed and you notice that the cloaked figures are all wiping their faces beneath their hoods. In a broken and sobbing voice, the hooded figure you had been talking to speaks.
"I would get you two some water, but I'm afraid no such supplies exist here on the path. We'll have to reach the end before we can give you any sustenance."

The other cloaked figures begin removing your bonds.
"We're glad that you're with us on the side of freedom."

"Thanks amigos."

Jose rubs the place where he was cuffed to get the circulation going, before following the cloaked figures.

"Lead the way comrades, I've survived far worse than a little dehydration."

After your eyes begin adjusting to the darkness, you are able to see more than just the cloaked figures. You find that you are inside what seems to be a long tunnel of somewhat shoddy construction. The path is bumpy and not completely straight, while the load bearing supports are made of random materials, seemingly brought in a hurry just so that the tunnel could be completed; you see some supports are just felled trees, some are stacked stones, while others are just bits of trash piled up. There is little light provided by torches along the walls, though they seem more like lighters in that they provide only a single tiny flame each. The cloaked figures begin leading you down the tunnel, their facial features remaining unseen due to the poor lighting.
"You seem to be men of action, brazenly attempting to start an uprising within the slave ranks. Tell us, what was your plan going forward?"

"We need to start preparing and getting an idea of what we can use. Mi temporary amigos managed to defeat some knights, and so the golden opportunity to be free is when reinforcements from the castle attack."

The cloaked figures stop in their tracks.
"Eh, you killed the knights? The people fighting for our freedom?"

"Ah, that is something I had meant to ask you, Jose," Nikkolai says.

"I noticed you were quivering with anger at how the knights treated those farmers. Could it be you hold some grudge against the knights?"

"No, i was mistaken amigo, i was enraged at the thought of them oppressing the peasants, but who could've thought the peasants were oppressors themselves."

Jose turns to the cloaked figures.

"No, the slavers where the ones who killed the knights and brought us to the village. I say 'defeated' because the knights fainted due to the stench of the faggot man's diarrhea, I know it sounds outrageous, but that's how it all happened."

"ehhhhhhh, that's weird..."

"I've heard tale 'o the disgusting gaseous attack he speaks of."

"What? That's ridiculous. Why would anyone do that?"

"Trust me, my bro had to clean the shit off the roamers' clothing."

"aughhhh, disgusting."

Jose grimly nods.

"I don't even want to have to think about that anymore. Anyone want a smoke?"

"Are you talking about the thinker's leaf? I've had a long day. I'd be interested."

"Are you sure you want to share such an expensive commodity with us?"

"Its not that expensive where I come from, people literally grow it in pots..."

Jose rolls up a joint, and hands it to one of the cloaked people.

"And anyways, all that talk of money is for the greedy slavemasters, when this stuff is something that us workers produce, we obviously have a right to also enjoy it."

"You've got a good point there."
The closest cloaked figure takes the joint.
The group continues moving as they pass the joint around (to Nikolai and Jose as well).

Scuttling can be heard from behind the group.
Lots and lots of scuttling.
"Oh, that's not good. We should pick up the pace. There's a hiding hole up ahead where we can take cover."
The cloaked figures begin moving faster, going from a fast walk to a jog.

Jose follows closely.

The group reaches a part of the tunnel where some boards cover part of the wall.
The closest cloaked figure removes those boards, revealing an alcove big enough for ~15 people to stand in.
"Quick, get in. We need to hope that those beasts pass quickly."

Jose gets in, but readies his fists just in case something leaps through.

Everyone except Nikolai, who stands around aimlessly, gets into the alcove until one of the cloaked figures races out and pulls him in with the rest of the group. The cloaked figure holding the boards places them in front of the alcove entrance, leaving the group in relative darkness where the only light present seeps in from the small cracks and holes in the boards.

If you peak out of the cracks/holes, you see a massive herd of toddler sized rats scurry past the group. However one of the rats towards the back of the group seems to stop and begins sniffing at the boards. Several more join in, resulting in 10 rats sniffing at the boards while the others scurry off into the distance.

Nikkolai wants to scream but cannot. His body is rigid, frozen in place, like a new babe dipped in the Siberian ice lakes.

"hnnnnnnngghhhhh" escapes from his lips.

Vermin

The rats begin scratching at the boards. You can hear bits of the board get ripped off as they do so.

Jose takes out his lighter, and lights a couple of the boards on fire, using the flaming boards he tries to shoo away the vermin.

Jose lights his lighter and holds it under the boards, to no effect.

Jose turns to one of the cloaked figures, and quietly asks.

"Yo amigo, what the fuck is happening?"

One of the cloaked figures motions towards you to be quiet.
The rest begin readying some knives.
