This will be the topic for posting mech builds that are good.

This first post will just contain the generics of mech building:

1) Make sure you pick a chassis that is good for what you are trying to do (if you are trying to use a guerilla mech don't use an atlas chasis).

2) You should go by the standard 3 types to get the most out of your mech, maybe you will find a cool innovative idea, but balanced mechs just don't compare with the specialized ones.

3) The 3 types of mechs are:
Guerrilla: Good speed, uses lots of lasers because it can cooldown while it runs away.
Brawler: High armor, lots of big heavy hitting weapons, these builds tend to have low speed and don't have the ability to outmaneuver other mech types. Due to higher tonage limit and less maneuverability ballistic weapons are chosen much more often over energy weapons because you don't want to have to worry about cooling on the front lines.
Sniper: Tends to have lower armor to get more sniping ammo and gear.

4) Ballistic weapons need extra ammo, you may not want to spend the tonage on the ammo when you could spend it on armor or more weapons, but when you are in the middle of that fight and you are out of ammo you are going to be like "fuck, Amos was right".

5) DON'T FORGET TO GET THE PROPER UTILITIES FOR YOUR TYPE: If you are a sniper get the missile lock on support system and/or the jump jets, a brawler will want the various radar jamming and suppressing utilities, utilities do make a difference.

Top weapons for me are

1. Clan Gauss Cannon - Light+super powerful compared to the normal one - Long recharge time but its worth it.
2. Medium x pulse laser - fast reload, decent power for a laser
3. Long range ballistic missiles - AUTOTARGETING, decent power.
4. Pccs - electric guns - SUPER SUPER POWERFUL - SUPER OVERHEATING

The four mech types are

Light - scouting and running away
Medium - Some brawling - best used in large numbers
Heavy - major brawling - put many weapons.
Assault - SUPER HEAVY - SUPER POWERFUL - SUPER TONNAGE - SUPER SLOW

My favorite light mech : puma cause of pccs

My favorite medium mech - uziel cause of pccs

My favorite heavy mech - mad cat cause of missiles and (not anymore) pccs

My favorite assault mech - mad cat mark II == mad cat++

Ammo is not a problem if you have multiple lives - otherwise, stock up on them

In a vs match you don't want to die because THAT GIVES POINTS TO THE OTHER TEAM, if you are packing an ammo weapon that you want to use and it is going to be a medium or long fight, pack the extra 1 or 2 tons of ammo, it will go a long way.

Infinite Ammo is pointless, it unbalances the game by making ballistic weapons the best in the game, thats like turning off heating so you can go take a mech and pop on abajillion clan er ppc's. Infinite ammo is for nubz.
